Confused: Magic Kingdom Resort Area Buses

I've been pouring through article after article online, and I've still seen conflicting reports about the most consistent and current route that the Disney Transport buses make thorough the MK resorts.

I know for one that the Fort Wilderness buses are almost always on their own route, but my main question is, when does the Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Grand, and Poly share buses to and from the parks and/or Disney Springs? In what order do the stops occur? I've mainly heard that the Grand is often the last stop the buses make before they head towards its destination.

  1. Also, what destinations are served most consistently via buses at the MK resorts? (I've heard that Epcot buses often run from the MK resorts in the morning hours)
  2. Does Wilderness Lodge have mostly consistent bus service to Magic Kingdom? (I know they have a designated bus stop for it, but I'm not sure if there are buses running to and from MK and Wilderness Lodge at all times of the day due to the alternate boat service)
  3. Does the monorail normally open for Extra Magic Hours for MK / Epcot?

I'm planning a trip to The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for June, and I'm really just intrigued in general about how the Magic Kingdom resort buses operate. Please do share as many experiences as you have with the MK resort buses!

why so worried about the buses when you're going to be at a resort serviced by the monorail? No need for buses to get to the MK, besides the monorail GF also have boats to the park, as for the rest of the parks and Disney Springs, Buses in June probably will be serving GF only because is High season not sharing with any other resorts due to the crowds

Boats at WL only run to MK starting 30 min before opening so for an earlier arrival the bus is your best option. Or boat to CR and walk.

After many stays at WL I've never shared a bus with another resort. Perhaps my timing is spot on but that's been my experience.

If you are staying at a monorail resort, there will be no bus to MK or Epcot. If the monorail is down for repairs or broke, they will put on buses to Epcot but that is the only time. As far as to the other parks, the buses are the buses are the buses. You are going to get good and bad service no matter where you stay and no one resort has any better service than another. The buses are supposed to run every 20 minutes to every park and every resort, that doesn't take in the possibility of traffic accidents, problems with passengers getting on and off or any other small change that could happen.

from GF, i often take the little boat that goes across to MK....i prefer it to the monorail...
assuming that boat still exists...

Does anyone know what direction the blue flag Magic Kingdom boats travel in at what times of day?

Not sure if things have changed, but during our Sept 2015 stay at WL we shared MK buses with CR and EP buses with FW, at least heading to the parks. This was not always consistent, so it made it really difficult to gauge how much time you needed to get to a FP or ADR. Biggest reason I won't stay there again.

when staying at WL, we only use the boat to get to and from the magic kingdom....
that's one of the best parts of staying at that resort....the boat is the most relaxing way to travel!! love it!
