Confused I thought Disney Quest was closing?

My tickets still include DQ and I thought about my family going there between Christmas and New Years since trying to stay "local" when not at parks...we are staying in THVs.

Anyway, my "kids" are dd-22 and ds-18. We have never been before so thought it may be something new but not sure my dd or I would enjoy it. My ds and dh may. Is it just for little kids? Is there a better way to "tour" DQ then going and not having a plan? Im asking sknce it will be extremely busy when I am there.

Thank you all!

Just an update that we've gone to DQ the last couple weekends. We're still under our old Premium Annual Pass which included them (but expires on Tuesday). We renewed with the Platinum Plus and asked both times (and asked for a manager once) and were told we would NOT be able to use our AP's to get in starting Wednesday when our new passes kick in. Whenever I'm at DS again I'll test but they seemed pretty certain. I did ask if by chance we'd be able to come in with our kids (whose passes don't expire from the old version until later this summer) and they said we could ask at Guest Relations that day and they might make an exception for us, particularly if not crowded, but it would be a case-by-case thing (our kids are in their 20's so wouldn't "need" us - I'd argue more if they were actually young).

js - I don't think anyone knows an end date for sure yet but people have posted here that for school groups, etc. they were told they couldn't schedule past September so may be shutting it down then (or just not for sure saying it'll remain open past then). Don't know what the odds are it'll still be open at Christmas but I still wouldn't think it would be that busy since they no longer give out the free room passes and it's not included with AP's. We went 2 weekends in a row as I said and it's been completely empty - not a wait for anything. About the only two that really ever have lines are Pirates and the Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters. Well, maybe Aladdin but I avoid that one. I think your DS18 would enjoy it - I'd say it's not for little kids but more that it's the "pinnacle of 90's technology" meaning some things may seem a little lame these days. Pirates and Buzz though are fun, as are the Alien Encounter one, Mighty Ducks Pinball and Cyberspace Mountain (if for no other reason than to compare the technology to Sum of all Thrills at Epcot). Jungle Cruise is worth doing once. And they have some retro games (actual video game machines) your husband would probably enjoy along with some more current ones they both would.

I think you would all enjoy it. And as marciemi said, it probably won't be crowded. There's no real strategy to employ, just take a look around and see what you'd like to do. There is really something for everyone, and the interactive games like PotC, Buzz, etc. are fun as a group. Hope it's sill open for you to try!

Yes, you can use them at both Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland.
Thank you! When I ordered my package it just says they are for WP's, Oak Trail, and ESPN. I definitely want to use them for mini golf and DQ. Hopefully DQ is still open at the end of August.

Hopefully we'll be able to go again, looks like we would have to schedule it soon just in case

Have you tried DQ with the new AP yet?

I didn't even realize it was slated to close. My kids are big fans of it. Even though I was a video game junkie back in the 80's, I don't enjoy DQ all that much. It's interesting you guys say it was empty when you went. Last time we were there, which was last summer, it was packed. Except for the '80's video game consoles, most of the bigger attractions had lines. If the lines are gone, maybe I'd like it more...we'll have to try it.

We have old 10 day non expiring that have WP and More on them and it includes DQ. We are going between Christmas and New Years day. My kids are dd-22 and ds-18 and we are staying at SSR so may give this a try for a non park day when we are doing movie and dinner at DTD.

I thought I had read somewhere that DQ would be included on the Platinum Plus until DQ closed. Is that NOT correct? That might seriously affect my plans.

It is not correct. We asked before renewing, each time we were there with the old pass and a couple times now that we have the new one. Our (college) kids have the old AP's (premium) that don't expire until late summer and we asked when they're home of there was any way we could go with them and they said technically no but we could ask at guest services and see if they'd make a special exception for us as a one time thing. In any case, the new premium plus ones definitely flash blue at the tapstile and every CM has told us they're no longer valid, nor is there a way to add them into your AP.

Just clarifying it IS included for anyone whose old Premium pass hasn't expired/renewed yet but that should mean none will include it by early October.

When I was there in December, there were 4 coupons for free admission to DQ in some paperwork that got sent to my house. Maybe they are still doing that?

Pretty sure that ended with the end of the year. There used to be a ton of them available on ebay as well (obviously people who'd gotten them free) for around $20-25 but since they stopped giving them out, you can't get them cheaper there any more either.
