Just an update that we've gone to DQ the last couple weekends. We're still under our old Premium Annual Pass which included them (but expires on Tuesday). We renewed with the Platinum Plus and asked both times (and asked for a manager once) and were told we would NOT be able to use our AP's to get in starting Wednesday when our new passes kick in. Whenever I'm at DS again I'll test but they seemed pretty certain. I did ask if by chance we'd be able to come in with our kids (whose passes don't expire from the old version until later this summer) and they said we could ask at Guest Relations that day and they might make an exception for us, particularly if not crowded, but it would be a case-by-case thing (our kids are in their 20's so wouldn't "need" us - I'd argue more if they were actually young).
js - I don't think anyone knows an end date for sure yet but people have posted here that for school groups, etc. they were told they couldn't schedule past September so may be shutting it down then (or just not for sure saying it'll remain open past then). Don't know what the odds are it'll still be open at Christmas but I still wouldn't think it would be that busy since they no longer give out the free room passes and it's not included with AP's. We went 2 weekends in a row as I said and it's been completely empty - not a wait for anything. About the only two that really ever have lines are Pirates and the Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters. Well, maybe Aladdin but I avoid that one. I think your DS18 would enjoy it - I'd say it's not for little kids but more that it's the "pinnacle of 90's technology" meaning some things may seem a little lame these days. Pirates and Buzz though are fun, as are the Alien Encounter one, Mighty Ducks Pinball and Cyberspace Mountain (if for no other reason than to compare the technology to Sum of all Thrills at Epcot). Jungle Cruise is worth doing once. And they have some retro games (actual video game machines) your husband would probably enjoy along with some more current ones they both would.
