I have read several threads about the DDE (?)card,. I think that is what I want...
Any way what I am trying to find out is if it is worth it? The card is available for PAP at $25 off the usual $75. It gets you a discount at a lot of rest/food places.
I have a PAP, and wanted to know if it is woth the $$$$.
And I am leaving in :hourglass 11 days! So did I wait to long? I only found out about this card a week ago and at that time, at first, I was under the impression that you could get the card and they would email you if it didn't get to you before your trip. You took the email to Ecopt Guest Real. and they gave you a letter that you could use. Then I thought I read on a thread that you could no longer do that and must have the card in hand. But yesterday I think I read that the whole process is taking so long to get cards out that the emails alone are good for the discount.... with out going to Ecopt.
I am now offically confused :sad2: ! And while this is a natural state for me, I am trying to make an informed and in- tella-gent decision! :rotfl2:
So thanks for any on that has done this/ bought the card/ is buying it. And has waddled through all the info!

If you eat at a lot of sit down restaurants, it is definitely worth it. I went for 5 days with my sister and saved about $65. The cost was $50 so I came about $15 ahead. I'm going again in 27 days and get to use it for another 5 days and all that will be ahead.
As far as waiting too long, give them a call and ask. I believe you can pick up the letter on property now.
Good luck.

The "worth" of the card will depend on you.

In order to get back the money you spend on the card, you have to spend $200 in dining. (20% of $200 = $50) I don't know if I'll spend that much. Chances are I will. That's only like 2 or 3 sit down meals for my wife and I. But even if we don't, I still like getting the 20% discount.

I don't believe it's too late.

You'll have to call or fax in your application for the card, and then you can pick up a temporary card at Epcot Guest Relations. (I believe you can only pick up the card at the GR outside the front entrance - not the International Gateway)

I think its worth it. Since you are ordering it so close to your trip they might email you a confirmation letter. You DO NOT have to take this letter to Epcot. The email alone will work. The letter that they give you at Epcot will be the same as what you receive in the mail. When I ordered my DDE card it was when they were always emailing before I went they changed policies and would only mail the letter (the letter is the same as an email). I had no problems what-so-ever using this. In fact the CM at Ohana's that waited on us said he wanted to get this one since the CM one included 18% tip. I always left the savings as a tip. The tax you are charged is after the discount. So you are saving exactly 20%.

We used ours for Ohana's and drinks before, Sci-fi, Espn Club, and Concourse Steakhouse. We are going for a week in Sept and staying at Pop one of few counter services you can use it at. The others are at All-Stars.

If they do not email it you will have to go to Epcot to obtain a copy of the confirmation letter.

Enjoy

We ordered the card in March. Got the email for it. (no card as of today). Just got back from WDW. I kept track of my savings and saved $74 during my one week stay. (Less the $50 I paid for the DDE card...I am still ahead of the game and have at least one more trip planned during the next 12 months). I would say it's worth it for us!

Psst. Its $250. 20% of $200 is $40. :flower:

I was just doing that calculation....I was thinking wow - I thought it was $250 to get back the purchase price....

The DDE was a great investment for us. With my parents along, we saved a ton on meals. We'd pay for one meal, then my parents, and then my parents again since they were saving so much money thanks to my DDE card. ;)

From what others have posted, they are no longer e-mailing the letter as of 3 or 4 weeks ago. It was a word doc and I guess people were changing the names and dates. If you call in time, they will mail the letter. If there is not enough time to get the letter in the mail, you have to go to Epcot to get it.

Where can I find the form to sign up for DDE? I spent over an hour on the Disney website last night looking for it.

There is a number you have to call. Not sure what the number is right off-hand. I know the restaurant board has it.

Have your AP ready as they will ask for the number if you are not a FL resident.

I don't think there's a form. You call the phone number, which you should be able to find on allearsnet.com.

There is a form - at least there was. I used it to fax in my application.

Maybe they discontinued it?

Found it!

After logging into the Disney World Passholder website, click on Passholder Benefits and Discounts, then click on Dining Discounts. Right at the top of the Dining section, there's a link that says Disney Dining Experience membership.

Once you're in there, scroll down. Under the bulleted benefits, there's a link that says Download Your Membership Application. Make sure you have Adobe Reader.

You can either mail the form, or fax it in. The mailing address and fax number are right on it.

I dunno... I ordered it in early March, and I just called to order it. I did have to give them my AP voucher number.

It's an either/or situation. You don't HAVE to use the form.

I found it easier because a.) my last name is a pain in the butt to spell, PARTICULARLY over the phone! :teeth: and b.) the passholder site said I'd have to wait on hold, and I didn't want to. :)

Okay, so can I find out which restaurants allow the DDE? Is there a list somewhere?
