Hello everyone :)

Let me apologize before I get into this whole thing. I am new to all of this and have only been to WDW one time (Last August) but we stayed off site/

I am planning a trip with my best friend for November :cool1:. I got a Pin in my email yesterday for the 30/35/40 off deal. Our travel dates were 11/20-11/29. We planned on staying at a value resort. With the 30% off deal the room would go from $1145 to around $805. Adding the park hopper tickets for both us would add another $630. So I figured that a total of about $1500 with the Pin added.

Now I know that they have the free dining being offered. We would have to change our reservation dates to 11/18-11/27. IF we did this should I be adding the $1145 of the resort plus the $630 for the tickets and the dining would be free? Or am I completley off here? I went to the WDW website and plugged in those exact dates and it came up with $1968 for the 10 day resort stay, 10 day park hoppers and the Plus Dining Plan.

So after this long story (sorry) the difference of pricing would be about $500 right to have the free dining? If we keep our first selected dates and take the Pin offer instead of the free dining plan is the difference of the $500 enough for both us to eat for 10 days including the table service restaurants?

Please help me understand which deal works out best for us. I really appreciate the help and appologize if I am asking something obvious.

Thanks, Jessica

I tried it out online and it would be $1788.86 for the free dining with 10 day park hopper tickets. So it would be about $288 for dining. You need to determine if you would eat more or less than $288 worth of food. Also, with a value this would be QSDP. Good luck with your decision.

Just be aware, that at a value with free dining, you will not get the Plus (or regular) dining plan, but the Quick Service plan, which is only for counter service dining, not table service.

It depends. You're aware that the free dining for the value resorts is the QSDP? Were you planning on purchasing a dining plan? If you're staying for nine nights, the value of the QSDP for two people is about $575; according to your numbers, you'd be saving approx. $340 using the PIN (congrats on that, by the way). If your dates are flexible enough for you to be able to change your plans, and if you were planning to purchase the QSDP, the free dining is a better savings for you. From experience, I can tell you that it's A LOT of food, I actually prefer the QSDP over the DDP because you can be more flexible about where and when you want to dine and it also includes the refillable mugs. Also, if you want to take advantage of the free QSDP, you can pay to upgrade to the DDP for about $10 per person/per day.

Oh okay I was wrong with the whole thing. I have to stay at a moderate resort in order for me to get the Plus Dining Plan. Thankyou for clearing that up for me.

Okay so the new numbers would be these:
11/20-11/29 - Resort without pin 1799. Pin disount =$626.50 total= 1172.50

Tickets= $628.36 For a grand total of $1800.86 (no free dining)

Free Dining:
11/18-11/27- Resort 1799+626.50= $2425.50

a difference of $624.64 which is how much the dining plan would actually be costing us right? Basically we have to decide if that amount is enough for us to eat at the places we would eat at if we had the dining plan included :confused3.

Thanks so much for the help!

The dining plan includes how many nights you're staying, not days. You'll be there for nine nights? The value of that would be $756 for two people, nine nights.

If you went with the value resort w/free dining then tell them you want to upgrade to plus dining they just charge each of you 10.00 per night to do that. add your value price, the dining upgrade of 180.00 and your tickets 630.00. It should be less if I figured right. The moderate might be worth the extra money to you but that is another option. Double check my math, I could be wrong, or the difference might not be worth it.

Wow, I didn't realize the 30/35/40 pin included thanksgiving weekend. The 20/30/40 pin I got in April excluded 11/24-11/27.
