Confused about tickets...

We went to WDW in 2002 and have 1 day left on our passes. Do we just take and use these same passes when we go in December, or do we have to trade them in for new ones or what? We will be in the parks for 6 days, so I had planned on buying 5 day passes and then using the 1 day on our old passes, but then I started reading all the info on tickets, and now I'm so confused...lol. I guess my main question is, do I have to do something with these old passes or can I just take them and use them as is?

Just use them as they are.

you can do either but they are worth more to use as is rather than trade in.

My dilemma is that I have 3 days left on an old 5 day pass but Disney does not really give any good room only rates so it is tough to use the old pass. My last two trips have been with UPH.
