I am comparing the ticket prices on the Universal and Undercovertourist websites. I am trying to decide whether to get an annual pass right away or start with or a 2 day + 2 day ticket.
Anyway, my question is this: I've seen posts saying that it's a good idea to buy the 2 day + 2 day ticket, then upgrade at the park to an annual pass. I'm concerned that would save less than $12, while potentially risking the extra 3 month promotion that comes with the seasonal annual pass. (I thought I read fine print saying that the offer for the extra 3 months that comes with the seasonal annual pass can't be combined with any other offer, which might (?) include starting with the 2 day + 2 day promotional ticket???)
If I'm understanding this correctly, if I buy an annual pass from Universal initially, it would cost $324.82 including tax. Alternately, if I buy the 2 day + 2 day pass from Universal, it would cost $282.22 including tax. The same pass from undercovertourist would cost $270.95 including tax. If I want to upgrade at the park, and I buy my ticket from undercovertourist, do they assume an upgrade from the Universal ticket price, or from the price I paid at undercovertourist? I think the upgrade would be +$53.87 if they base the upgrade from the undercovertourist price, and +$42.60 from the Universal price. But the difference of $11.27 would certainly not be worth losing the extra 3 months. Is my math correct? Would I risk losing the extra 3 months that I would get by buying the annual pass to begin with instead of upgrading? Thanks for any help!!
