Confused about Shares

Hi All,

Sorry for another question about shares but i am really confused. Two days ago i set up my account with selftrade. Yesterday i had paperwork through and this morning i phoned and bought 20 shares in Disneyland Paris for £62.

I was told to go into my account so i could print the document off. That's where my first problem occurred incorrect pin and it was the blocked. I rang at lunch and got it unblocked however the man said he could only re-set my password by sending a new one in the post but he would send a copy of the paperwork for the shares i had bought.

Question 1, i read somewhere along the line about needing to send a piece of address verification like a bank statement, however i bought shares and it was not mentioned, do i still need to send it or not? It was not mentioned in the paperwork i received this morning.

Question 2, when i receive the paperwork in the post i know i have to fill in a form on the disneyland site, print it off sign and fax or post it. I have bought 20 sahres do i have to include any payment?

Question 3, what will i receive in the post apart from a share holder card which i show to get my discount? (I have heard this takes 6 weeks to come through?)

I think I can answer your questions.

I bought mine via Selftrade, all online, got the contract note and faxed everything off to Eurodisney SCA, got my card and I was never asked for a bank statement.

With 20 shares there's no payment required but I believe you still have to reapply every 2 years.

The only thing you get is the shareholder's card and does take about 6 weeks to come through.

Hello all,

The bank statement is to confirm the funds were legal. The account will be closed down after 30 days if this is not forwarded. Also the verification number has to be confirmed.

If you are not intending to do any more dealing I don't suppose it really matters about the bank statement. However, you do not receive a share certificate as such and therefore would probably have to sell through Selftrade, if you ever wanted to do this.

I sent my bank statement off and it was forwarded back within a couple of days. The account is always there now for any future purchases. Couldn't face going through all the setting up again.

Jill sent hers by fax. I forwarded mine by post and received my card within four weeks. Brilliant service.

Wow, that is a great price. I bought mine a few months ago and it was over £100 by the time I'd actually bought 23.

I asked Selftrade to post my contract note as our printer had run out of ink and I'm still waiting for my card to arrive but I'm hoping it won't be too much longer now.
