Returning to Disney after almost 5 years!

We won't be making many reservations (sadly, the kids are older and not into the character dining like they once were).

I noticed that you can make reservations at 180 days out if you are staying on property. I don't think we are going to stay on property this time. Therefore, when can I make dining reservations?

Thanks!

It's 180 days in advance of the date of the reservation regardless of where you're staying. If you are staying on property, you can make reservations out an extra 10 days from the first night of your resort reservation. So, regardless, you can make an ADR for the first day of your vacation 180 days in advance, but you could only make an ADR for your second day of vacation 181 days in advance if you are staying on property. This is the infamous and confusing 180+10 rule.
