Confused about PIN's

I've moved since the last time I went to WDW and also no longer have access to my email that I had then. :( I read on here that some folks were able to call and have a castmember apply for PIN's associated with their names or addresses and apply it to existing reservations.

I just got off the phone with a CM who said this is not true and codes are only sent out to groups like ZIP codes and there is no way to trace back or search. :(

I'm pretty sure we got an offer in the mail before and my DH threw it out thinking it was nothing. Are we just out of luck?

We're planning on travelling in early december. Is there some other deal I should be looking for?

I believe offers for winter (if they will happen) will show up after this promo ends.

You can book now if you must and when an offer comes through they will apply it, but you need to pursue the promo when it happens with the travel agent, etc.

I think with this economy, it's hopeful there will be more offers for the rest of the year. It's hard to say how good the offers will be. Stay tune and I think we will see them in July.

I guess my real question is, why did the CM tell me that he cannot look up my name or address to see if there are any pin codes attatched to my name, like I read so many others on this board doing. Was it just a cranky or uninformed castmember? Or am I asking the wrong question when I call?

I know we got a postcard before. Maybe I will call and say I can't find my postcard and find out if they can help me.

There was also a 40% code that went out that went into Dec. but you had to book by the first week of April I think - so it is expired.

As far as what the CM said - they have said this to me everytime I have called - despite reading on here multiple times that a CM looked it up for them. They always said there are different codes for different people and it would be impossible to track them all, and I would need the actualy PIN for them to look up the offer. Then I read on here that a CM told someone that they were allowed to tell someone of their PIN if the travel dates corresponded with it. ( I think it also helps if that is what will seel the deal for you to book)

So what I suggest is you call and say "These are the dates I'm traveling - I had a postcard I lost- is there anyway you tell me if there is an offer for these dates?"

ALthough, since the one I think you are talking about is expired, they may still not be able to tell you - it may have cleared from the system.
 

Yes they can look up codes, keep calling back until you get one that actually wants to help you and help their quota for the month
 
so, it's why I expanded on the topic of other promos.

As the other poster stated, I would keep trying other CMs; until, you get the answer you desire. Your code may be expired though; so, don't be too dissappointed.
