Confused about PAT and DCL transport

When I called DCL to get their transport from MCO to the port the CM told me I didn't need to pick a PAT. I just did my 30 day check in and I had to pick a PAT. Since we are using DCL do I still have to show up at the time I chose? Only times available were in the afternoon and I was hoping to get on one of the morning busses. I know if you aren't using DCL transport you have to show up at your PAT. I don't want to get on an early bus if it means having to wait at PC for hours. Please respond if you used DCL transport since covid. Thank you.

I used DCL transport in October but it was in Miami, so I don't know if the procedure is different there. I had an early PAT, and rode the DCL bus. Once there, I had to show my PAT to enter the building, and would have had to get in line outside if my PAT hadn't been an early one.

When I took the DCL bus to Port Canaveral, nobody checked my PAT. Disney doesn't want you waiting around outside for hours. I wouldn't worry about it.

PAT didn't apply in San DIego either. We walked right by everybody waiting in line since we had DCL transfers.

Did you get a boarding group? I think with DCL Transfers, generally they aren't paying attention to PAT. It seems hit or miss whether folks need to even select a PAT. But usually the DCL Transfers get boarding group 2 or maybe 3.

I got boarding group 10 in January, with a DCL transfer, and I checked in at midnight. I didn't end up sailing on that one, though, so I don't know what would have happened at port.

Yes, group 16. I have no idea what time we should even check in at the airport. I know it takes about an hour to get there from MCO. I don't know how much time it takes once you check in to get on a bus. 30 mins? An hour?

I am staying at the MCO Hyatt and taking DCL transportation to the port. I just checked in yesterday morning and it first had a screen that stated that I didn't need to pick a port arrival time and then on the next screen it assigned me a PAT of 10:30 and boarding group 5 automatically. I had the same PAT and boarding group assigned last October.

I have heard other people say that for some reason the system doesn't pick up on the fact that you are taking DCL transportation to the port. I think you'll be fine going anytime. Last October cast members took us directly from the bus to testing. At no point in the process did they ask me for my PAT since we were a bus group.

When you did it in Oct, about what time did you check in at the airport? I'm wondering how many people were there waiting to get on a bus? I realize how many people can vary throughout the day. I would guess there's probably more people first thing in the morning whe they first start. Would you say there were around 100 or less or more like several hundred? Thanks

The Hyatt buses are separate from the other MCO buses. When I stayed at the Hyatt in October, there were two buses and the one that I rode (#2) was about half full.

Disregard - found answer in another post.
