I am planning on purchasing a military ticket and staying at Shades of Green this fall.

Do you have to have tickets to get FP+ (not planning to buy until I get there) or is just the room reservation enough?

You can't make fp+ selections until you have linked your tickets to your MDE account.

They can make fp selections when they buy their tickets. There will be availability for most of the rides and attractions first thing in the morning. The only ones that might be hard to get on the same morning would be the new Seven Dwarfs ride and the Elsa and Anna Meet and Greet.
