Confused about multiple magicbands.

We are annual pass holders, so we have magicbands for our APs.

I booked a last minute 3 night trip in April through kayak.com and upon check in received 2 more magicbands. The Castmember wouldn't help me attach them to my mydisneyexperience account, so they aren't connected.

Now we are taking some of our kids on a 3 night stay in September. I booked it with an AP rate and adding QS dining. Will those magicbands be connected to our annual passes, or will they be separate and we'll have to wear two different magicbands, one for the resort and dining and the other for our APs.

magic bands link to your MDE account, so everything that is in your account is accessible by your band. So if you booked the room under the same account that has your APs, the magic bands that come with your room only reservations will work for everything.

Thanks! That makes it so much easier. lol. And my daughter lost her band the first day of our first time using them, so now she'll have one to wear.

With the Sept. trip, as long as your resort package is linked you should be able to customize magic bands on your My Disney Experience and they will be sent to you ahead of time. As far as the grey ones they give you at the resort the same thing happened to us when we booked a same-day one night stay this year. Those bands could not be added to our MDE account. I tried.

Sounds like you never attached your kayak reservation to MDE, so those aren't usable for trips you take that are attached to MDE. As far as the systems are concerned the "you" from that trip is different than the "you" with MDE.

For your future trip its attached to MDE so the bands will be able to draw the info from MDE (nothing is really on the bands).

You can customize new bands or not, since you got the bands from the AP purchase.

And if you make reservations through a TA again you can attach it to your MDE. Not sure how to do it with kayak but there are plenty of threads about orbitz etc.

If they don't customize them, they will have grey ones waiting at the resort when they check-in. If they don't want new ones they should select the 'decline' option during the customization process.
