Confused about Harry Potter park

Great advice.

Also just remember that at Universal you need to apply for a GAC (Guest Assistance Card, or 'express pass') at each park visit, though they do hold your details so it's not as time consuming for you.

This is different to WDW theme parks where the GAC is valid for your entire stay and you need not re-apply.

If you need extra comfort I know the moderator on the Universal forum, and she works at Guest Services at Universal. ;)
Let me know if you want me to ask her on your behalf.

thanks Johnny, but i'll wait for now....i'll see if we actually go...
what i might do, if she does want to go and is up to it, i'll go in advance i think and ask for it..
she's very resistant to asking for any kind of help.....she has difficulty walking, but refuses to use a cane or any kind of walking aid (though she really does need it now, but i think she considers it admitting that the disease is beating her).......so i wouldn't want to embarrass her and ask for assistance when she's with me....
i'm going to be in orlando a week before she joins me there...so i'll have plenty of time to zip over to universal and ask for help in advance of her visit....i don't mind doing it...i'm renting a car, so it's not really a big deal to pop over one day and speak with someone to see if anything can be arranged...
i wish there was a make-a-wish organization for adults...it would probably help in organizing trips like this...but it will be fine...

anyway, thanks for the offer!! :goodvibes

Hiya,

just to let you know - spring does not conform to the March til May thing in official circles....

The first day of spring is the day of the Vernal Equinox - i.e. usually 20/21st March (2010 =20th)- the first day of summer and therefore end of spring is the Summer Solstice 20/21 June (2010=21st) .

So in their eyes they have til nearly the end of June to deliver.... though with them advertising Harry Potter breaks from the 28th May, I guess they must be getting there.

Just a quick update from us, but a May opening (perhaps mid-May) seems most likely right now, but Universal are absolutely NOT saying anything more beyond the fact they expect to have it open by May 28, for the packages they are now selling. I'm really not comfortable speculating about any soft-opening at the moment as this is the most closely-guarded opening I have ever known in Orlando and, while they would obviously love to have it open for the big Easter period, my gut feeling is they are not going to take the slightest chance with anything not working or not being finished, so I suspect we won't know much more for at least a month or so yet, sadly.
