Confused About Gingerbread Pieces

Just wondering how you all are building your houses? The biggest question I have is how to have your roof slant upward? The pieces only stack on top of each other which looks weird. What are you all doing? Thanks for the help.

building up behind it and adding a block higher, thats what I did. hard to explain I guess.

Yes it was. Thanks a lot for the info. You don't realize how important that was to me. I shouldn't be stressing out over a game as much as I have been, but this definitely helps!
