Confused about free dining

So I have only done free dining once and that was a while ago, about 4 yrs ago. I understand the changes if you stay at a moderate you have to pay the up charge and so forth. That being said I never experienced seeing no availability for one set of dates and then availability for the same resort same check in date but just added days. I know the minimum is 5 days which my first set of days are but when I added 4 more nights wala available. If I book could I still drop a few nights after, like you can traditionally?

Not and keep the promo, generally. Dates are pretty specific these days.

Wish there was a why to this. Check in is still prior to deadline and s. ame check in day for both, and the first dates meet the minimum of 5 nights. Just stinks to know the room is available same check in for 9 nights but not 5.

I'd call direct - the site has been up and down and all wonky for days.
