Hiya. Looking at the official website a while ago I had assumed that the 'intimate' package was the least expensive. However, I have now got the impression that a custom package might be better for us. Can you help with the following:

Does the custom package include accommodation? What minimum stay is required? Could someone give us a rough idea what the cost of a small event would cost, described as follows.. (and whether this is 'intimate' or 'custom'?)

Ceremony for self and partner and my two kids (12 and 14) at the Boardwalk venue. Accommodation (minimum necessary... we'd need two adjacent/adoining rooms or a suite.. and I can probably rent some DVC points if I want, can these be used to offset the accommodation cost elements as we'd like to stay at the BWV), restaurant meal for the four of us, (Spoodles or similar) but no proper reception or cake etc, it's just not us. Basic photography, not video. No unusual extras and we'd not want a musician playing during the ceremony.

All thoughts and advice welcome.

Mike & Amanda :)

With customs you have to meet minimum spending requirements, and I think the lowest is $10,000.

It sounds like you'd want to go the intimate route. You get the location, cake, champagne ( or sparkling cider) toast, musician, bouquet, boutineer, and coordinator. Dinner and Accommidations aren't included and there is a minimum 4 night stay. The basic intimate package for '07 is just under three thousand. You should call DFTW and speak with someone to get a better idea what is right for you.

Thanks Stephanie, that helps... I was aware of the details for the intimate package as you describe them, I was just fuzzy over the custom stuff. :)

Basically, Sparkles answered your question, but I just wanted to add...the minimum 4 night stay can be at any Disney owned and operated property. How you book it is up to you...renting DVC points would probably be the most cost effective (especially at BWI/BWV) and they will count that reservation for your requirements.

Also, even though you mention not wanting music and too much extra stuff...Disney will not "give you credits" for stuff you don't use. I didn't really want the limo service, but we ended up using it two days after our ceremony for a trip to DTD. Some couples have used it to either pick them up from the airport, or take them there at the end of their stay.

Good luck with your planning, and if you have any other questions, just let us know!!

Hi :wave2:

Welcome to the wedding board Mike, great to see another UK Disser over here.

A WDW wedding is a great choice especially if you want to keep it small. I think the intimate package is great and the locations are so nice.
You can obviously get the wedding packages with tour operators as well as going direct with DFTW. The only difference I could see in the packages was that with the tour operator the officiant and a 5 day park ticket were included.

Good luck with you planning and keep us posted :grouphug:

 Looks like you got some good advice above! So just wanted to say hi to another UK Disser!

just another Hello :wave2: from the UK. We're having an Intimate vow renewal and have booked it thru' Virgin as we've booked our hols with them too. As said previously, the package includes the officiant, which is extra if you book direct, and also 2 x 5 day tickets which you can upgrade to the 14 day for £13 each. The package is pretty much everything you need (you can choose the flowers and also cake flavour, as well as the music) but you can add extra's if you wish - we're having Mickey & Minnie and also Cindy's glass coach. We're then gonna book our own dinner somewhere on property for a little later. Lots of couples hire an outside photographer instead, as that way you get the pic's and high-res CD for less than the cost of the CD alone from Disney ($1,000!!) and then you can ask for a 'credit' so you can have pic's in MK with the Disney photographer during park hours.
As previously said, do ask more Q's if you need to, as there's always someone on here that will know the answer.

Thanks everyone. We're weighing up all the options at the minute and I'm sure we'll have more questions!

Mike :)

Just a little add on, we booked through First Choice and had to buy 2 14 day tickets with them in order for them to book the wedding. We have also had to pay for our own officiant. Wouldn't really recommend their wedding department.
