confused about calculation of 180 days

Yes, I meant ahead LOL. That's why I put the exact this time = thing, I always get that backwards.

I admit I made an assumption based on her username being KatrinfromGermany -- but it would explain the discrepancy.
I think you're correct on the discrepancy thing. I asked my friend "Siri" to tell me the current time in Germany!:D

And, I am one who believes "midnight" occurs at the end of the day at the exact moment it transitions to a new day. Your explanation does clear up why her calculator is showing the 28th.

probably you are right - we are 6 hours ahead of Eastern time - so if you have to call at 6 a.m. Eastern time to make your ADRs, it is lunchtime for me.

Even better there is an easy way for her to check this ... although the 180 day window hasn't opened for her yet, the shorter windows are open. All she needs to do is check what the latest day open for her is at 11:59 PM tonight (or some night when it is convenient for her to stay up late), and 15 minutes later at 12:14 PM of the new day. If the fencepost is the source of confusion, then she should see a new day has opened up when she checks at 12:14.

Katrin, not so far-fetched! If you consider the day to be demarcated by when you go to bed and you don't mind staying up 'til midnight, you might be able to make your ADRs a day ahead of everyone else! :)

Oops, my bad. The discrepancy explains why it shows a different day, but you're correct that since you're ahead of us that doesn't work out to a day early for you. :-(

it gives me the 29th
Hmmmm, I think Jenny and I would like you to experiment;)... but, every Disney Reservation booking window is based on EST.

Our Daylight Savings Time does begin on March 8th this year where clocks are moved ahead by an hour. This will put you only 5 hours ahead of EST.

What a pitty - but actually it is just fair. But thanks for your help!

And hopefully I will get my desired ADRs anyways (trying for BOG :worried:)

oh my gosh - I have just checked: we move our clocks ahead by an hour, too. But you won't believe it: we do it this year during the night from 03/28 to 03/29
Now I am totally confused....

I would definitely like the know the results of an experiment, although I reiterate I got it backwards, so she should check around lunchtime and not midnight.

Good point about Daylight Savings Time, although Germany may also use some form of that. I know the UK does but they start on a different date than the US, so there's always a few weeks a year where the difference is longer or shorter than usual. I'm guessing whatever adjustment is being made by the calculator though is just working on the current time difference, not the projected time difference.

Yes, my brain hurts too. :-) Good luck with your ADRs! Unless you are looking for Victoria & Albert or something like that, I suspect the exact date will not matter so much.
