I was told that I coiuld buy 3 base tickets for $216 or 4 base tickets for $225. Is this correct, that the 4th day base ticket only costs $9? If I end up staying only 3 days instead of 4, can I use the 4th day ticket to go to another park on the 3rd day? Or if I stay 4 days and buy 5 base tickets can I use the 5th day base ticket to go to 2 different parks on the 4th day? I hope I am making this question clear, it is boggling my mind. Thanks.

Disney tries to encourage people to stay longer by offering significant discounts on longer tickets. So adding days is pretty cheap.

But, you absolutely cannot use an "extra day" to go to more than one park on the same day. You must add the park hopping option to visit multiple parks on the same day.

Price sounds right for the bump up. After the 3rd day, the prices for the base ticket really don't increase by all that much. They know they'll get their money from food, hotels, souvenirs, etc. You cannot to the best of my knowledge use multiple base tickets in a single day. Once you access the first park, your ticket is done for for the day. You can get back in, but nothing else. Otherwise you could buy a 6 day base for $232ish which is cheaper than the 3 day plus hopper at $216ish + $45.

These prices are correct. However, these are not park hopper tickets. So you may only go to one park per day with these tickets.

Don't worry, your questions are quite clear!

Unfortunately, Onceler's answers are 100% on the money. Disney makes a lot of money on the $45 Park-Hopper add-on, which is why they don't allow you to use more than one day of a base ticket on any given day.

The current gate price for a 3-day base MYW ticket is $216.20 and a 4-day base MYW ticket is $225.78 (including tax). Only way you can visit more than one of the major parks on a single day is to add the hopper feature to your base ticket. Regardless of the number of days on your base ticket, the hopper feature costs $47.93 (including tax).

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help, I will probably be arriving late in the evening on one day and have to leave mid morning on the last day so it seems a shame that there isn't an economical way to enjoy a park on those two days where I would only be able to stay an hour or two without having to pay for a full day. I'm sure this is the case with many people. thanks again.

If you just upgrade to park hoppers you can go also go to more than one park a day, for any number of reasons, to eat, because one park is too crowded, whatever.
