Confused about AAA

I see a lot of people mentioning booking through AAA. I am interested in booking a package for next July (2007). I would like my package to include the dining, tickets and resort (AKL or CSR). Can I book that through AAA and get a discount? Or is it better to go through one of the other travel agencies (Small World, Dreams Unlimited) or directly through Disney? Will one of them give me a lower price than the others?

I am not currently a AAA member, but if I can get a substantial discount, the membership should pay for itself.

Yes, you can get a discount on a AAA package. The discount will only be on the room portion, but you can purchase the tickets and dinning option through them.

We went in May and used a AAA travel agent to purchase a package with the dining plan. When we booked it I told her that I had heard rumors that Disney might offer discounts and she said she would change the reservation if they came out. Sure enough, Disney did offer a discount and it was $10 cheaper to use the new discount and get the water park upgrade for free.

You can only use 1 discount, so you can either use AAA or a Disney discount if they are offered. You can book it now with AAA and then they can change the reservation later if a better code comes out. Ask your TA up front if they will be willing to rebook if a Disney code comes out - some AAA TA's don't know much about Disney.

Do you have to use a TA from your local AAA office or can you use any? I love referrals!
