Breaking news they might have a vaccine!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope people suffering from allergies don't sneeze while in line..everyone will run the other way. But then again..that could be a good thing..you'll have the ride to yourself.
I thought the same thing! I have seen several comments on this thread alone about people saying my kid (or other family member) had the flu on our last trip but it wasn't bad enough to keep them confined to the room.Honestly people have some consideration for others! If you or your child gets sick on vacation STAY IN YOUR ROOM!
Breaking news they might have a vaccine!!!!!!!!!!!
How is this "breaking news" or even half-exciting news?
Even if a vaccine were available, do you realize how long it would take to manufacture an adequate amount of it to immunize any statistically significant number of people? Or the time it would take to actually develop an immunity with it?
Currently, with the feared speed at which this is spreading, a vaccine means nothing.
These people aer describing situations that occurred before the current media blitz concerning the swine flu. Very few people are going to quarintine themselves while at Disney World for a minor illness under normal circumstances.
I agree extra caution should be exercised in cases of a possible outbreak. That being said, under normal circumstances, such as those that previous posters have described, if you are afraid of being around illness, you probably should never go to WDW, or the mall, or a school, or the grocery store, certainaly not on an airplane.

WoW Way to rain on my parade..All serious aside I wonder if people have been seen with mask at Disneyworld
True, they said it would take several months to have a vaccine ready for use. By then the whole stinking swine flu will be gone!Best advice is still what the cdc is recommending...wash your hands (long enough to sing Happy Birthday twice) and cover up when sneezing or coughing.

If they were, they're not accomplishing anything except looking silly. The pore size on those masks is too large to keep viruses out.

I have wicked flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, congestion, chills, bone aches, nausea, etc.) at the moment which are definitely NOT swine flu, cause I don't know a soul who has been near any of the confirmed cases/locales.
But I'm breathing on you through the intertubes right now.
Seriously, you can get sick anywhere. I work with seventh graders, and I can guarantee they pass me germs 2-3 times a class. (Mostly on their turned in papers after they wipe their noses with their hands, or cough or sneeze, and then hand me their homework. Although there are other, much more disgusting examples I could share if I wasn't already feeling nauseous.)
We get annoyed if the government doesn't tell us about threats. But as the media is persistently demonstrating, too much information can just cause a panic. Go to Disney World, follow basic sanitation. I only get about 1% of what my little cherubs bring to school, current situation notwithstanding. Chances are, you won't even get a sniffle by sharing space with other tourists.

I am talking about any stomach flu with vomiting etc.
I read a trip report from last winter where a whole family had the "flu" and continued to visit the parks even though they were all throwing up! They'd use the bathroom to be sick in and then go on the rides. Just didn't make sense to me that anyone would want to expose other people to their bug like that. I also can't imagine wanting to drag around a sick child. I'm no germaphobe and I'm not cancelling my trip next week. I just think folks need to show more common sense!
