I will be visiting Universal in late February and have the option of visiting on either Monday, Feb. 27th or Tuesday, Feb. 28th. From what I've been reading, it seems like Tuesdays are generally the better day to go. So that's what I've been planning. My wife and I will be childless for a mini vacation and are going to attempt both parks in one day.

The crowd calender I first looked at was Orlando Informer and they had all of late February (except Mardi Gras) as slow.

Then I stumbled upon the crowd calender on Undercover Tourist and they list Tuesdays as RED or Very Busy. They show Monday as being moderate.

Do you guys know of any reason for the drastic difference? Any insight on which one is more accurate? Tuesdays most likely the better bet, right? Thanks for the help!

Sundays are actually the least busy at IOA/Universal.

That's interesting. I booked a night at RPR for a Monday night stay at end of Feb to do IOA/UOR on Mon and Tue. Maybe I should change that to a Sunday night stay to do Sun and Mon. Think it would be worth it?

It isn't going to be busy the end of February anyways, so I think you will probably be fine. Sundays are less busy though since it is the departure day for most people.

end of february is not bad for crowds.
stay away from the mardi gras concerts and saturday.

like damo stated, you will be fine.

line time apps are only valid if the peeps that are submiting them are consistant.

touring plans are based on many things.
with potter still drawing in many, touring plans might be off by the sites that predict them.

but, end of february has generally been a fine time to go to the parks.

People keep saying that the end of February the crowds are not bad at all. But, I read somewhere and then verified that the Daytona 500 is on the 26th. Is this going to make the Friday and Saturday crowds extra bad. I know Saturday's are to be avoided anyways, but that is the only day we are going to be there, and now I'm worried that it will be packed with people for the races the next day.

i posted to stay away on saturdays.
weekends draw more people to the park.

the 25th has a concert for mardi gras at the studios.
that place will be packed on saturday night. 2/25

most of the crowds will be at the studios and not at ioa.

many state sundays are good due to lower crowd levels.
i find t-w-th great days and some mondays also.

since you plan to go on the 25th, go early.
hit the studios first as they will be crowded later in the day.
the concert begins at 8:30pm.

switch over to ioa that afternoon.

Okay, I'm trying to have faith........ Hopefully, you've learned something I'm assuming that by your post count you must have some experience. We will only be going to IOA, so we should be okay, it just is such a rare opportunity for us, I hate to spend the time and money and be in a zoo. I always go to amusement parks in the dead of the dead season, so it makes me nervous.

If we are only going to IOA should we do Harry later in the day once the Mardi Gras stuff starts in the other park?

That would be a great idea. A word of warning...CityWalk will be jammed when you leave the park so be ready for it.

the mardi gras concert starts at 8:30 pm at the studios that saturday night.

IOA closes at 8:00 on 2/25.

if you are at the park before the opening, do check out PH.
you might not have a super long wait for FJ.
it will be crowded early morning.

if you head back to HP around 6:30 pm, the crowds should have thinned out.

that last hour the park is opened, is when we read about less lines in that section of the park.

if you do check out potter in the early morning and find it is too full of peeps,
head back to the front and do all those rides.

peeps tend to gravitate to the back for potter while the other rides do not have tremendous crowds.
by staying ahead of this crowd pattern, you will have less waits.

use the single rider line for rides.
FJ has that.
when you are in the SRL, sometimes the TM has 1 or 2 peeps to fill in for the same car/ride vehicle.

for some of the rides, it is not possible to carry on a conversation while on the rides. FJ, Hulk in that group.

eat at off time periods.
don't decide to have lunch between 12-1:30.
you will avoid lines at the counter services/mythos if you go against the flow of that traffic.

this is only a guess.......i would think that the crowds at IOA would let up in the later afternoon. those that planned to see the parade and concert might be heading to the studios to catch some rides/shows prior to the mardi gras events.

I always assumed us Floridians have weekends off work so it would be busier.

All that said, now that Blue Man Group has a new show, and Minigolf will be open, I'm thinking of just calling and adding Sunday to extend the time. Meanwhile I'll pray for a Spidey soft opening in last days of Feb...
