Confirming the reservation and room requests.

I would like to call the wilderness lodge regarding our arrival date, and room requests. It's been stated to do so five days prior to arrival. Does this mean exactly a week or is there some other exact time frame to follow, or does it not matter? For example, we are checking in on the 7th, so should I be calling on the 2nd at exactly 3:00pm?

I just don't want to be annoying and call one day, only to find that our reservation info is not on record yet, and so on. Is this situation similar to the 180 day wait period for making reservations for brunch at the castle, where hundreds of people that are checking in on the same day as us will be calling in at some exact time, or is it not that precise?

Also when I call, does it make sense to try and call the wilderness lodge directly or will that not matter? It just seems that when someone answers the phone that's dealing with so many resorts as opposed to someone at the resort your staying at, the service becomes less personal and more automated.

I am not looking to discuss the number of room requests or things that I should or shouldn't be asking for. I've seen that discussion here before, and am just looking for advice on timing of the phone call.

you can put your room request right on your reservation at the time you make the reservation.....they will note it on your reservation....there are no guarantees, but it's possible that it will be honored..

as for when you can call the resort directly, i can't remember when they actually get the record.....i seem to recall 3 days out, but i'm not sure...
and i've never called directly to check about a room request, so i don't know how that works..
i've always just noted it on my reservation...

I should have mentioned this as something I wasn't looking for feedback on as well, as I've already been to those discussions. When we made the reservations back in February, the cast member really didn't care about room requests and told us to deal with it later (must have been a bad day for this person). Currently, we are only a few weeks from our trip, so this is a non-issue.
 
I am 48 hours out. I called the Poly to see if they had our assignments and they told me I would not be able to find out until the day of.
