Confirmed X-mas gift ...VWL for parents

History........... Dad loves WDW. He wanted to go this year, but he and my mom had too many other places to travel (they LOVE camping).
Mom likes going to WDW, but hates paying "Disney prices" on incidentals (sp?) such as pop, bottled water, snacks, things of that nature. Mom is also a bookkeeper and is busy at the beginning and end of every month with clients.
Mom and dad camp (currently) about 25 weekends per year, so their schedules are usually booked Fri-Sun from April thru November. Oh yeah, their wedding anniverary is October 20.

In 2004 we (DW and I) will be, since we just bought a house, about tapped out for vacation spending money (especially with 2 DS's).

Solution................. we just reserved my parents a 1BR at VWL for 10/17-10/22 (Sun-Thurs. night)!!!! This will be their Christmas gift this year. Also, we will pay for their towncar transportation (likely with FL Tours) during their stay. Granted, I don't know if their camping schedule will allow those dates. But, the way I figure it, if they HAVE to go camping each weekend in October, this trip can still fit into their schedules.

Just had to share this with you!!! Now comes the letdown, since we won't make any further ressies until roughly Sept. or Oct. 2004 (for Spring Break 2005 ).

What a great gift! If they love camping I'm sure they will be wowed by VWL. A friend who lives in orlando heard that they might be starting the food and wine festival even earlier next year so maybe they will get to see that too!

Very Nice. I just booked SSR as a gift to my parents for their 40th Wedding Anniversary in October. Havent told them yet, going to give them the confirmation in their Christmas card.

We have to tell them early, they are both retired and travel a lot now. We need to let them know so they keep it open.

Of course, I also booked a little trip for us as well while I was on the phone
