Confirmed - Ticket Price Increases

We have a room only trip booked in early June. If I call and add tickets to it will those prices stay unchanged by tomorrow's increase, or is it only if we buy and pay for the tickets tonight? Anyone know?
From what I have been reading everywhere, I believe if you change from room only to package with tickets tonight, you'll lock in today's price. You do not have to pay for the whole trip until 45 days prior to arrival.

You got about two hours...

Though you won't have to "pay now" if you're outside the final payment window...

Which should be sometime in march...is it 90 days?

DVC has desensitized me...

Guests with late dining reservations are typically the only ones actually escorted to the gates. Most everyone else is just directed toward the exits. People have no reason to complain about having to leave at 7pm. It's known months in advance that these parties take place and signs and CMs remind them of the closing time. I've seen a few people confront CMs over the years, but they are politely told to get out. ;)

Yeah...that seems more accurate.

I would say the "reason" to complain is that they do it 4-5 nights a week now...

In the case of Halloween... That is no longer a "slow" month...it's getting increasingly crowded/uncomfortable...

The accountants could ease off the pipe a little...

It certainly has! :rotfl:Packages must be paid in full 45 days out. :)

And for MNSSHP, I draw the line at paying for a party inside of a party! No Villains Soirée for this girl! Lol

I will say that the price increases in Florida without any real increase in value or experience is beginning to get very frustrated. EPCOT and DHS are sorely in need of work. At EPCOT, the new Frozen ride is not going to magically fix everything that needs to be done. Imagination and the old Wonders of Life pavilions are pretty much wasted space at this point. Over at DHS whatever they announce in the coming months better be big enough to get people really excited because that park needs it more than any other. Probably a DCA type of makeover at this point. Love or hate Avatar, at least something is being done over at AK to increase the guest experience with something other than restaurants and character meet and greets.

It has been almost two years since we have taken a full family vacation to WDW. We have been for a few RunDisney races. However, when we go, it usually is just DW and I. We also tend to not spend as much on food, park tickets or souvenirs because we are focused on our races. Right now, I am not sure I really want to spend my money on a big family vacation until I see what the long term plans are.

You know the apologists have been saying that as long as the stock price goes up, they post record profits, and people keep booking...that there is absolutely nothing wrong with what they're doing.

The ends justify the lack of attention to the means.
That's the kinda "can do" spirit that built the parks...apparently after you translate it with raw greed and update it for the 21st century.

I expect the studios work to be ridiculously drawn out and underwhelming...because with recent event within the parks Division - wdw is firmly in last place as far as future park investment and attention...that's reading the tea leaves.

They're keeping an extra track in toy story a secret... Gee new screens for an 8 year old ride...which has a 90 minute wait because there's nothing else in the park...not because it provides more than a minor amusement.

WOW, how come I don't see the same complaints about the other parks that charge just below what Disney does. Everything goes up in price, some more then others yes. My house has tripled in price from when we bought in 2004. I don't know if I could or would buy it today for the price I can get for it.
I look at the gate prices at Disney and compare them with the parks and attractions near me and Disney wins hands down every time. The reason we continue to come and pay is the level of service that we haven't found at other parks. The one near us is almost $60 gate, then if you want fasspass add $65-85 depending on day on top. The lines are longer, hotter,no theme and dirty. Save my money and send me to the Mouse house every time.

Because their price increases have been relentless, they're posting record profits (not revenues...big difference), and they have not shown a committment to capital investment at the Wdw parks in comparison with either their competitor up the road... Or in the tradition of Disney parks... Or frankly the other disney parks when you measure just how much larger Wdw is and how many people it serves.

Not the disney way...Where there was a committment to innovation, quality, and a faith by management that the committment would be rewarded with money, and usually was.

For me it just comes down to money. Disney's resident APs cost almost DOUBLE Universal's now. Is Universal as good as or offers as much as Disney? No. But Universal, as a (kind-of) competitor of Disney, still offers a quality experience that scratches that theme park itch for me. And for about $270 less, it's a lot more appealing now with these new price increases.

EDIT: Just took a look at the overall prices again. Can someone explain to me why the Florida Resident tickets were raised significantly more than the others?

My Bank has made record Profits in the Billions for the last 7 years, guess what still use them, tellers are down, hours are down, transaction fees up, still use them.
I look at businesses and if I support them, not on what they make and their margins, is what they can do and bring to me. If they bill what the markets can bear, or price themselves out,(like Target in Canada, not even 2years and Billions gone)
Disney brings some qualities to me and my family that cant be measured always in dollars. I compare other parks because I see the difference in what my DDs have and experience. For them to learn about math because they want to see what they can spend on at the parks, or learn about scheduling from booking our PFs and dinners, or conversions of temperatures from F to C, conversions of the doller, I can go on. These are things that other parks and activities cant hold their attention to..
This is on top the real pleasure of seeing the girls reaction to the parades, interactions, fireworks, shows.
I see greater value in these non measurable things, and I think others do to.
Why do people buy a $5 coffee that they can make at home for .50C, that to me is a waste, but millions do everyday.

Escorted?

Or being informed by a bis-cas that they need to leave?

That's a big difference.

Hard ticket events have been around for a long time...and such measures were never necessary...

If they are now...perhaps they'd should look at their pricing structure?

Since ejecting both $112 dollar day guests at 7 and inconveniencing $75 dollar 5 hour patrons in Holiday garb might be the real culprit?

That would be "escorted"! We had a 6:00 pm ADR for the Crystal Palace on 12/19 a MVMCP night when we exited after dinner we were escorted to the front of the park via a back "alley". It would have been possible to stay for the parade but we did not have wristbands and didn't feel it was fair to those who had paid for the party. Also we had been to the party the night before but didn't want to use party time for a long dinner!

I think that's a different circumstance... You're a captive audience in a restaurant and that makes sense...

I was referring to those mulling around in the park.

My point is that they can't access the rides...the only thing they can do is shop and walk around...

And throwing people out is not a Disney tact...
They typically don't prosecute employees caught stealing... Why toss somebody out when it take scare of itself organically...

I'm sure it happens on occasion... It isn't a priority for the magic kingdom staff...they just want to get through the night with as few confrontations/snags as they can...as they do all
Late/special event nights

I don't know nuffing about no special ticket parties, except what I read on these boards ... but ... here are a couple of threads with alleged first-person sightings of "lots of people getting escorted out".

Everyone seems to agree that CMs are extremely vigilant to the point of being quite in-your-face checking wristbands and inviting all offenders to "get out of Dodge".

The tone of the eyewitness postings is that relatively few people try to crash the parties, and the actual customers don't mind that they have to show their wristbands over and over again. Probably because they paid so much for the privilege of being there, they're not too much bothered by the aggressive checkpointing and "your documents please comrade!"

If that's the case...then the employees have lost their way.

Speaking from experience.

Wait a second...

Didnt they do away with child ticket pricing years ago? Or was that just passes?

Did I miss something?

Greed is the new way of Disney doing business and they are working extra to get new customers. New customers don't know what things used to be like, true Disney magic and quality.

Disney actually would replace light bulbs when they reached 85% of their rated life so guests would never see burned out lights. Today we have seen the same burned out lights for a couple of years.

Florida annual pass holders probably spend way less per visit than other guests. So if you can eliminate or limit them, while filling the parks with guests spending more money, your bottom line improves tremendously. That is until the economy turns again. Then the overseas guest slow down tremendously. You are left to count on those loyal guests that are within a cars drive to your park to keep it going strong in the lean years. Except, you have burned all your good will by not valuing these guests, not investing in the parks, and now they have found other ways to spend their small dollars.

Thanks for the response - made a lot of sense and gave me good chuckle.
