I am happy for you. To me having capacity disappear before even getting to the parks is horrible. Good luck to all getting a LL for more that one tier 1 ride. It's working for me, I think it's change in the right direction.
So essentially it's the old FP+ system is what you are saying? Where most Tier 1's were gone by day of. Gotta think this would also limit same day LL purchases.I am happy for you. One would assume the original FP+ would have been used way more since it was free.I can't see how this won't introduce all of the advanced capacity issues seen in the FP+ days

This! All of the above.Anyone who thinks this new system is better cannot have known how to use the Genie+ to any near optimal level. Or they are morning phobic to a level they cannot see the trading away of the benefits of waking up for 5 or 10 minutes to maximize more tier 1 rides being easily possible, even on higher crowd level days. I mean, I am in no way a morning person. I LOVE sleeping in. ESPECIALLY on vacation. But the value returned for a brief bit of consciousness at 650am was easily worth it.
This is probably going to even out the availability for rides for people like I noticed multiple times last visit (early June) who were purchasing genie+ (sometimes midday at the parks) and had done zero research to how it worked, let alone how to optimize it.
What a disappointment to not be able to book at a second park until you've ridden the 1st ride.
How much less enjoyable and efficient to be prevented from stacking a lovely evening flow of desirable (tier 1) rides.
How I am reading the release info, it seems pretty clear Disney is doing a blatant expectation reset to achieve less rides (at the least less desirable rides) when purchasing and using this system.
yippee. Lucky us.
- Once you’re in the park and you enjoy your first multi pass experience, you may be able to make an additional selection (subject to availability).
At least when fast pass was around: (1) it was free; (2) the most top tier rides were available too (7 dwarves, FOP); (3) you could use fast pass multiple times for the same ride.
Has anyone actually looked at the tier 2 options...?? They are mostly shows and low wait rides you don't need genie+ for most times anyway.
It just seems a really poor and uneven trade for a few zzzs. Far more restrictive.
I am unbelievably thankful we took our big trip earlier this month, and brought my parents for their 1st visit in 25-30 years at that time. We rode every single top tier ride, skipped almost every line, and hardly ever back tracked. With a little MEP fishing we easily re-rode a number of rides as well on several days.
I guess I look forward to seeing how the crafty fence testers find new ways to manipulate the new system and hopefully get some decent value out of it.
Are you located outside of the United States? I'm in Canada, and I have to switch the website to the American website, in order to see it. International guests (as of now) won't be able to book rides in advance unless they are physically in the USA.Is anyone else having problems seeing this information when using the links that people are putting on here? I end up at a page that just seems to be guest services. What am I doing wrong? I don't see anything like what is below.

Are you going to:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes/
Once you're on that page, to see the qualifying attractions for each park, you need to click on the View Lightning Lane Experiences link for the park you want.
That could have been the issue, or the OP just didn't notice the links. That site doesn't work outside the USA unless you change the country to USA.
Which is a good reason to prevent people in other countries from seeing the details and thinking they'll be able to access the reservations before they get to the U.S. They'd be confused and frustrated when they couldn't find the option on the Disney app.It sounds like selecting rides in advance will be geoblocked to the US as well
