A widget is a hand-held razor-blade scraper - like you'd use to scrape a sticker off your car window. I also googled it, though, and there seem to be other things called widgets. But I've never heard of any of them until now, and I still don't know what they are .

I thought a widget was just a generic name for a thing - nothing in particular (similar to gadget or whatchamacallit).

the original widgets were holders for buggy whips. "But
