Condos or suites near SeaWorld

We're traveling to WDW next June with friends and their children (11 of us total). We're spending seven nights at WDW. We'll be on a monorail resort and they will be staying at OKW. Here's the question. They want to add three nights at a SeaWorld-area resort and have found Parc Corniche. The reviews on trip advisor are mixed at best. Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of this resort? Any other recommendations for suites/condos in the SeaWorld area? My dh and dds are aghast at the thought of staying off-property and going to anything other than WDW. What could persuade them to go to SeaWorld. Is it really worth it? Thanks in advance for advice. :cool1:

Hi - I am from England.
There is the Nickelodeon Family Suites (formerly the Holiday Inn Family Suites) which is great for kids with the Nick theming etc.

We stayed there a couple of years ago when it was still the HI Family Suites but have looked round it again since the renovation, it will be great for your children, and is only a couple of miles or so away from Sea World.

Directly across the parking lot of SWF is the Hilton Grand Vacation club

and there is also the Renaissance Resort.

The Renaissance is slightly closer. If you stay on club level, you get breakfast and snacks for dinner during the week. I've stayed there, and it's worth the money if you can afford it. Scroll down this page to see a few pictures.

We are staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott and we got to see this resort next door called Horizons by Marriott. The resort is part of a vacation club, so I've heard if you stay there, you might get a call or two with someone trying to get you interested in buying into the club (like a timeshare, but a bit different), but you can also rent a room just like a regular hotel.

For $187/night (check Travelocity or Marriott's official website), the place is fantastic, especially for kids. My husband and I plan on taking our kids there in a few years (we're by ourselves this trip for our honeymoon). The place is done in a Key West theme so it's brightly colored. They have two bedroom villas with a full kitchen, living room, and screened-in porch. There are three pools, two of them geared toward children. I fell in love with this place. It's really very nice, and no, I am not affiliated with Marriott at all. In fact, we declined to buy into the club, but would like to stay there eventually as I mentioned above.

The best part? SeaWorld is no more than a two minute drive away. You go one block, make a right, then go one more block and you're there. You can't miss SeaWorld; it's the best park next to Magic Kingdom! I spent the past two days there. If you like animals, you must go! :)

Thank you for the great information. That's the price range we're looking for. I hope your honeymoon was great!

We had a look around Horizon's in August , there is a lot of re-construction work going on at the moment.
They are building a cinema as well as a new block of villas.

Had a look around the room and it was very nice - a lot of the rooms are quite away from the main reception area though.

To be honest it was 'okay' , not as good as we thought it would be and not as nice as say Disney's Boardwalk.

I still think Nickelodoen Family Suites is a good option, especially as you have children.

To answer the second part of your question, Sea World is just awsome. I'm sure your kids will love it, and it's nice to see some of the other attractions Orlando has to offer.

Hope Parc Corniche is good. We are staying there (free) Thanksgiving week.
If its bad, we didn't pay and we'll be at the parks alot anyway!!! :cool1:

The new construction going on right now is for bldgs. 27 & 28. The anticipated completion date is Feb. 06.

The cinema is NOT under construction at this time. WHEN it is completed it will be next to bldg. 14 & 15.

All of the bldgs. are within a 5 minute walk (with toddlers :rotfl: ) from the front desk. You check in at the front desk & then drive to the bldg you will be staying in. IF you are traveling by a cab company, they let you check in & then drive your luggage & you to the villa.

Hi Ruth,

I don't suggest walking to SeaWorld because a) the area is busy and not pedestrian friendly in my opinion and b) even though it is close, it's still a good walk, especially because the main "gate" to SeaWorld is close but the actual entrance after going through the parking lot is much further away. In other words, it is super close for driving, but I wouldn't walk there. The hotel offers a free shuttle, however, in case you're not renting a car.

As for the Residence Inn, it was nice enough. Everyone is very friendly and their free continental breakfast is the best I've ever had. The rooms are on the small side, but for two people they are fine. One thing you should note in case you have allergies is that the hotel is pet-friendly. You can request a non-smoking room, but I didn't see an option for a "never been used by a dog/cat" option. :) More than half the time we were on the elevator there was someone with their dog on it too.

sjrogo713 - We'll be at the Parc Corniche that week as well. We're arriving on Tues. and I feel the same way. We'll be gone most of the time to either Sea World, Disney or at friends house. :cool1: :cool1:
