I don't think the OP should have had to have paid more.
I very much doubt OP had to pay any difference -- now if they demanded to go up to a deluxe it's possible.

I agree I doubt it either.I very much doubt OP had to pay any difference -- now if they demanded to go up to a deluxe it's possible.
This is not only grotesque but weird.
So someone left a condom in a bed and housekeeping made up the bed without noticing it? Housekeeping also didn't see the underwear, water in the tub and the Palmetto bug? This is poor to say the least.
I hope that the OP manages to enjoy PO at least somewhat once she calms down. What a lousy way to start a vacation.
Soneone stated earlier that it looked like a quickie situation. I'm thinking that since the beds were made did someone sneak in and have that quickie. Or did an employee borrow the room??
I agree. However if the employee was going to cut corners they would at least remove the condom. If they saw it at least. But bed shouldn't have ever been made up. It should have been stripped and given new sheets. That is what happens in between guests right?
I keep reading how unlikely to make a bed up and not see condom but really that should be a moot point right? They were someone else's dirty sheets. Nasty.
I don't get the issues about the bags. It doesn't mean they were all gigantic suitcases. It could have been that each person was carrying a personal bag plus a bunch of totes or something. Who knows. That was probably just the count in her head as she was moving to another resort in the middle of the night. I know I always keep count of the bags as we are in transit.
Exactly. We are a family of three and regularly bring 8 bags with us. Only one of those is a large piece of luggage. Three are our daughter's small luggage set (one carry-on size case for her clothes, one small duffel filled with things to occupy her on the 12 hour drive, and one very small accessory case). Another item is a small retro promo flight bag that we use as a toiletry bag. One is a backpack. The other two are reusable grocery bags packed with car snacks and breakfast items for the room. The only thing that takes up a decent amount of space is the one full size piece of luggage. Just because someone says they have 9 or 10 pieces of luggage doesn't mean every one of those items is an actual suitcase.
I really hope the OP is too busy enjoying the rest of her trip to return to this thread now that she has received the info she sought.
And all of that would be too overwhelming to move by yourself? That's the only reason I was wondering- she makes it sound like a huge burden, and what you describe, my family could just pick up and go within minutes.
I would not describe it as overwhelming, but we certainly utilize bell services - and tip accordingly. Even under the best of circumstances, the long walk to the room is so much more enjoyable when you're not hauling a bunch of bags. If I were this family, I would definitely be inclined to utilize bell services if I also had to wrangle three very sleepy children late at night. They did not have the luxury of having their own vehicle which would have allowed one adult to stay in the room with the kids while the other made a few trips back and forth with the luggage.
Right... but then you can also use bell services to move again. Which is the context in which she brought up the 10 bags a second time. The number of bags is not enough to ping my radar- the fact that she mentions it multiple times is.
Also, a taxi in this scenario is pretty much a personal vehicle so that doesn't hold up. One parent could have done luggage runs while the other parent waited with the kids.

I'm confused what is your point?
Do you think she is making up the whole story?
Seriously asking
No. I was responding to whoever asked why the amount of luggage mattered. It's part of her complaint. She brought it up twice. First to complain about bell services which aren't a necessity- if she didn't want to wait for the luggage, she could have taken it with her-, and second to explain why she would not push for a change from POR even if she "hates" the resort.
I was sympathetic right up until the taxi, rain, and bell service complaint, and then I lost what little I had left when she wouldn't push to be moved but still wanted to complain about where they moved her.

Second, prepare mentally for the fact that some people on here will find a way to make this your fault or tell you that you handled it wrong. Just ignore that.
You guys are terrible.
Seriously ignore the dismissive comments. Send those pictures to guest services. Be firm but polite in your need to have follow-up on how the situation was resolved and what steps are being taken to prevent this happening again. (To the people who disagree- bugs are unavoidable, yes. Everything else is completely rectified by actual efficient cleaning and checkups, which yes, is possible no matter how large the property or how many guests with the correct staffing, tools, and education.)
And hey, if it's any consolation, they'll hate my comment too! Just remember that there are a lot of us who care and understand and would also like to think the property takes your experience seriously.
I know very few taxis that would sit and wait while one parent ran from room back to taxi multiple times. You get to your destination, remove all your luggage from the taxi and let the taxi go on its way.

This!!! Exactly!!OSHA implements standards to protect housekeeping from contamination of body fluids so I expect my family to be just as protected. It is clear housekeeping didn't remove the linen from the prior guest/s. If this was a used condom I believe that compensation should not end the matter. This should be escalated up the chain. The matter needs to be reviewed by risk management. I think Disney got off pretty easy here. If one of the children would have come into contact with the used condom there could have been some serious consequences. I am sure many will not agree and think my opinion is an overreaction, fair enough, but Disney is a hotel and in order to stay open must comply with certain regulations and standards so they need to be aware when their staff is falling short.
