Condition of Port Canaveral Hotels

In speaking to the front desk of the hotel we booked for this coming Friday. The nice gal at the front desk did inform us the Boil water restriction was in place as of this evening. They did not have a supply of ice. Said it was being delivered tomorrow. For the most part just a "few" rooms remained damaged. So I suppose all in all. I have heard from a friend they had to switch hotels. The one they booked was still closed, as of yesterday. They took a room in Orlando. Just FYI all...Call ahead to confirm.

My DH spoke with the Country Inn & Suites last week. He was told that they are closed until 10/15.

Tried calling Country Inn & Suites and got connected to their main reservation call center. The above post is correct, they're closed until Oct 15th but the main office won't confirm if they'll be taking quests on that date. They put me up at the Raddison as backup just in case. Now I'm trying to determine the deal with the parking garages...they're not allowing pre-pay on their site. We sail on Oct 16th.

I wonder if they could have gotten tornado damage? There are other hotels fairly close to them that are open and fine. I know it was reported that a fairly strong tornado hit pretty close to the port.

There was a tornado, the Facebook page of one of the area's parking lots mentioned getting hit by a tornado during the storm.

I did call the Port Authority, the on site lots are OK. Minimal damage and were operating. That info was from mid week last. The on line reservation system is down however.

Doubletree Cocoa Beach is currently closed. Unsure until when.

Does anyone have a status on the Port Canaveral Residence inn? It's right next to the Country Inn & Suites, but I can't find a status on the Residence Inn. We haven't been notified of anything by Country Inn & Suites, but from the comments above, it doesn't sound good. Trying to determine if Residence Inn is an option...or if we should stay closer to Orlando and leave early on the morning of our cruise.

According to my FE group on Facebook, Country Inns and Suites has canx'd every reservation up until Oct 15th, but they're not guaranteeing that they will be accepting guests on the 15th. New reservations are unavailable until the 16th. I would suggest to anyone staying there around that time to make back-up reservations because the hotel might wait until the last minute to let us know that our current reservation has been canx'd.

Also, pre-pay for parking is working again, as of yesterday evening.

Residence Inn is up and running now - no current closures.
