so what is entailed in conceirge? who has used it heavily and how nice/romantic/ etc is it? whats included?

Well, if you are referring to the concierge rooms at AKV, there is really nothing romantic about it I am afraid. We enjoyed it, I liked the fact that the DVC rooms were very close to the lounge and the staff was very helpful. The concierge rooms at AKV are the only DVC concierge level rooms available
There is a lounge with breakfast items in the morning, snacks in the afternoon, hot snacks around dinner and then snacks in the evening that include alcoholic beverages. There is coffee, tea, juices, water and sodas available, and you get turn down service.
You also have the ability to book the sunset safari, that is only available to concierge level guests.
Here is a link to Deb Wills site that provides some information

I have stayed at the concierge level at the CR and liked the offerings there. The lounge there has a really nice view of the MK it was relaxing to sit there at night and watch the castle.

I stayed there with friends a few years ago. The main feature was the Sunrise Safari, which was great. The lounge was OK, you got a continental breakfast. The evening offerings were good but they disappeared quick (people stacked their plates).

It's something you should try. As others have said, you then have the chance to book the Sunrise Safari. However, convenience best describes the CL at AKV. There's nothing romantic about it. You don't even have a view of the animals. In fact, the views from your room won't be so great either. However, you don't have any long hallways to walk down, since it's near the elevators. You don't have to worry about your breakfast, since it's close enough to walk out & grab something to take back to your room. Depending on what time you're back from the parks, you might be lucky enough to grab a snack.

Don't go in expecting a lot, or you will be disappointed. From what I've heard, there are much nicer CL's in some of the other resorts. Honestly, if I was a cash guest at AK, and had to travel to another floor to get to the CL lounge, I would be very unhappy. But for a few more points than what a SV room would be, it's worth trying.
