Concierge

Hi,
I'm going to disney this Sept. 2002. I will be there for 12 days and we are staying at the poly. I didn't have enough points to stay at concierge. I called customer relations to upgrade to concierge stating that i would pay the diff.. They said that i could only apply for upgrade at check in. Does anybody Know why This is true/ or not. Because if i was paying thru anyother group (AAA, disney club) the would upgrade you. Mind you I said to them I do not want a free upgrade I stated that i will pay the diff.. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have info on getting a upgrade ahead of time.

That is consistent with the info I received. I used points at Disney California Adventure and asked for an upgrade to concierge. So we asked at check-in and they gave me a couple of choices of upgrades like a one-bedroom suite with concierge or a regular room with concierge etc. Both cost extra money but somehow we felt like we got a good deal. We ended up taking the suite and it was beautiful. So I think that's the way it works. You might end up with something better than you expected! It just depends. They'll always want your cash and if they can entice you to something even a little bit more they will!

Babylisa - Hi, we went on points to Disney Grand Californian and stayed at Easter,,,,I tried to upgrade buy no availability. Since there was no room, no price was mentioned, so I was wondering if you could give me a ballpark number for upgrade to concierge and an upgrade to a suite....we are going back next year too Thanks!

Niagra2- We did this a year ago in late May. I believe the cost was about $100/night to the 2 bedroom suite that we got. It had 2 separate rooms and 2 full baths. A King bed was in one and two queens were in the 2nd bedroom. Seems like there was a little entry area too. We also overlooked the park and it was beautiful at night.
