Hi! I had a question about what exactly the concierge does or does not do for you. We are staying at the WL concierge during our wedding/honeymoon trip in August. Are we supposed to hear from them before our trip, to make any plans? I thought that I'd read about people who had their PS arrangements made by the concierge, but when I called WL concierge to ask for a Deluxe Magic brochure, the woman I spoke with said that they would only make our PS reservations AFTER we had checked in at WL, not in advance. Is this right? Or are we supposed to get some pre-trip planning assistance?
Thank you for any help with this!

I stayed at the Polynesian concierge this past December. I didn't get any pre-trip info in the mail or anything, but I did email the concierge about 60 days before our trip (we wanted a PS at Cinderella's for breakfast). They made all the priority seatings for us before our trip, then they emailed me the confirmations of them all. Hope this helps! :)

HMP2Z-- My DW and I stayed at WL May 14 - 21 on the Grand Plan. We had pre-planning with Randall Clayman at WL. If you are doing Deluxe Magic at WL, I would call and ask to speak to Randall. He was WONDERFUL!

He helped arrange PS prior to our arrival and took care of us in certifiable magical style from start to finish. He helped get us excellent seats to La Nouba; handled all our PS (pre-trip and after check-in); he checked in with us to fix anything or to see if there was anything he could do.

Since we were celebrating our 25th anniversary, he sent us a Disney pin (the Resorts staff pin) and one evening sent us a plate of huge strawberries and fresh whipped cream as an anniversary surprise!

Randall was previously named a Disney Partner of the Year and after spending a week with him, I can see why. He is everything you'd want in a concierge and more.

Generally, concierge contacts you approximately 60 days before your arrival. Both times we've stayed concierge, that's when we heard from the pre-planning staff. When I've tried to call before that mark, sometimes there has been some confusion. Sometimes when I've asked to be connected to concierge, (I was calling the main number) I got guest services. It is possible that you could have been connected to guest services, thus the answer that they can only help with PS's when you are there, since that's all they can do. You can try calling back and ask to be connected to the concierge pre-planning office, or directly to the concierge desk located on the 7th floor. That way, you'll be connected to the proper people, not guest services.
