When you are in a suite, do you get any special service for visiting Castaway? Specifically, I wondering if you get an earlier departure to get your pick of spot on the beaches, etc. Any past experience would be appreciated! Thanks, Lisa

No there's no advantage when it comes to Castaway Cay or any other port. Everyone gets in the same line to get on and off the ship at ports, except when you are boarding the ship at Port Canaveral.

Really the only advantages to being in a suite are the ability to prebook spa and Palo and the extra space and thats not much of a perk anymore now that it can be done online. The concierge sends little goodies now and then and make sure you have a great trip but Disney makes sure everyone is treated the same whether in a cat 12 or a cat 1.

We were in a Cat 3 on the Magic to Mexico last month. We hadn't made reservations for anything in Cabo and you have to take a water taxi off the ship. People with excursions booked are the only ones who could leave before 11 a.m. but the concierge left a message that we could get off whenever we liked. Once we were done with breakfast, we called and the concierge immediately had us meet her at the loading point, where she got us on the launch. (We would have waited if the boat was full because I would have felt weird...but there was room.) We were able to bring our friends (cat 5) with us. Sounds like maybe they don't do this for Castaway. There were some other advantages for us, too.

We actually only booked the cat 3 because we wanted the extra bedroom (my son has a chronic illness and we thought we might need it)--the concierge service was a bit of a surprise I learned about only two weeks before we sailed. This was our first cruise.

Nope. Get off early when they open the door, don't wait for the tram and go stake your claim. We had semi-tacky camp set up with floats and toys, so our late sleepers could easily find us on the beach. When the CM came over to sell us drinks, she laughed and didn't believe we were in the Roy suite until I showed her the card. :rotfl: Of course this was after I ribbed her about dropping us on a deserted island with no water fountain in sight and then showing up with a bucket of overpriced water asking if we are interested.

Thanks. We are currently just waitlisted, and really want it for the space. But I was curious about the ports as when we have sailed on other lines in suites we usually would get an early tender and some other perks like that. It is nice to treat everyone the same - that is what I like about cruising - that everyone gets the same food, entertainment, etc. That being said, if you would have boarded early on the tender because you were in a suite I'd say all the more power to you! You did pay quite a bit more than the average cruiser, and deserve some perks!! Great idea about setting up a camp site! Thanks for the tips.

I hope you get it. It was awesome. The only perk we really used was the free water & drinks in the room. The space alone was worth the price. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
