Concierge Rookie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The DH and I are blessed with a wonderful friend who gave us 6 nights at OKW free. We will be checking in December 9 and out on the 15th. Since we will be saving all that money..I thought why not extend our vacation. We have stayed at deluxes but never on concierge level......so what would be even better is if we extend our vacation, booked a deluxe and stayed on concierge level. Went back and forth between the BW and AKL, finally booking AKL Dec 15th -19th. Now I wondering if we made the right choice. With the loss of the 5th & 6th floor from concierge to AKL DVC..I'm wondering if we should have booked BW? Has anyone returned recently ,that has stayed at AKL Concierge prior to the closure of the 5th & 6th floor? Is there any difference between now and then? HELP

We are dvc members at OKW since 1994..you will love it. Our splurge is to do Polynesian concierge. We love the food offerings thruout the day, the club lounge has a great view of Wishes and they pipe in the music (while you have amazing desserts!), staff are friendly and helpful(got us breakfast with Stitch with a day's notice-during xmas week). Last time we did this was xmas 2005 and can't wait for the next splurge, although we love OKW. We would also try AKL concierge, but we had not so great experience staying at BWV so won't go there again.

I gave up on WDW concierge. They have since stopped calling it concierge and are now calling it "Club Level" which is a more accurate description.

I would take AKL over BWI any day of the week, club level or not. The AKL is not only a theme I prefer - the staff there is much nicer. When I stayed on the club level, the AKL was much, much better than the BWI.

WE are leaving for our trip on the 16th, 4 nights at GF concierge and 2 nights at AKL concierge. I'll try to remember to chekc back here and letyou know how it was!

Thanks for the input. I'm really looking forward to our OKW stay. It will be a first for me, but the DH, DD & DS are going to stay at OKW July 8 - 14 also for free (same friend) and then onto the Poly for 2 nights. I don't do Florida in the summer. O wow may I first say lucky you and I would take AKL conceirge over BWI any day and you sure have some GOOOD friends
