Could someone please let me know what the difference is between the Concierge Level of the WDW hotels (GF, Poly, Yacht Club, AKL, etc) and the regular rooms? Is it worth the extra points for a couple of nights? I have been toying with the idea of going next year for our wedding anniversary.

You receive itinerary planning before your trip when you stay Concierge.

Usually the concierge floor is seperate from the regular rooms and can only be accessed with a special key card.

You also receive various food offerings throughout the day-continental breakfast, snacks, tea, wine and cheese in the evening-usually more than just wine and cheese and cordials and dessert in the late evening.

Concierge staff members can help with PS's, special events, special requests-just about anything.

We are staying YC Concierge next month on points and all of the itinerary planners we have talked to have been extremely helpful. Amy-one of the itinerary planners-just called to say that she was able to book us an Illuminations Cruise for Oct. 20. We are thrilled.

We enjoy staying concierge and don't feel bad about using our pts to do so every so often.

Enjoy:D

Thank you for the description, but is the Concierge Levels the same at each hotel. Does one stand out more than the other. I seem to recall someone saying that the GF Concierge was the best. Any thoughts?

You would probably get a better answer over on the resort board. Many people over there have a lot of concierge experience. We stayed Poly concierge once. It was nice but I prefer 2 Bedroom DVC units.

At AKL there is a special Sunrise Safari that is only available to concierge level guests. I hear it is spectacular and worth the additional cost for concierge and the tour.

Here is link to write up on it.

We stayed two nights at AKL conceirge followed by 5 nights in a 1-bdrm at OKW. The conceirge snacks were nice when you needed some quiet time to recharge, and the sunrise safari and breakfast were lovely. That said, it felt infinitely more luxurious when the four of us moved out of that tiny hotel room and into our spacious 1-bdrm, where we could put the kids to bed and didn't have to go to sleep ourselves at 8pm. Not to mention the joy of stretching out in the huge whirlpool tub.

The conceirge service was kind of neat. I am glad we tried it once, but I don't think we'll be spending points on it in the future.

We have only stayed concierge at the Polynesian, but it appears to be a different operation at each resort, with differences in rooms and amenities. At some resorts you get upgraded rooms, at others (e.g. Polynesian) the rooms are the same. The food offerings seem to vary quite a bit in quality and quantity.

At AKL concierge guests ordinarily stay in "deluxe rooms", somewhat larger than ordinary rooms at AKL but equivalent to rooms at most other deluxe resorts.
