Concierge Gift Help

Don at AKL has been so wonderful, we want to bring him something. I know that concierge CMs can't accept tips. Many people bring food, but the CMs have food around them all day in the lounge. Really, why have a piece of candy when you can munch on a zebra dome? Some people bring state themed gifts, but we live in Idaho and, believe me, even if we wanted to cart along some potatoes, the best Idaho potatoes can be bought out-of-state. What should I bring?

OHHHH! I asked this very same question about a week ago and it turned into a very heated discussion (LOL).

But, to answer your ques.- Some people suggested bringing Disney dollars, food items,gift certificates for restaurants, etc. We will be checking in to AKL Concierge on July 4th and I am planning on bringing a small token for all of the work that the IPO has done. So, do whatever you feel.

The IPO for BC has been very good to us. But to add to the question, does the IPO staff also staff the lounge? I mean, will I see the people I have been phoning and emailing at IPO?

I have heard that some like to give gift cards from places like Walmart or even pre-paid phone cards.

Trip Nut - I'd be interested to read that heated discussion. Can't imagine how this is controversial stuff.

Some Disney Stores have pins of states, why now buy a pin from your state. It is something they wouldn't get by being in Florida (unless you are from Florida)

Also, why not a sweet card saying your thanks That way they can have it and treasure it. Another thing, write a note to the WDW main office to say what a great CM that person is, they get a note (and sometimes a gift) when people write good things about them

We've always tipped the concierge staff cash. They have always accepted it. Didn't know they "didn't" until I read it on these boards.

We have tipped cash as well and have never had a problem with them taking it but then we have also brought down a good bottle of champagne or wine as a gift as well....

unless they are working overtime or you request to see someone from the IPO you won't see them. They are downstairs in an office.
