Has anyone ever had IPO book Candlelight Processional package for you? I definately DO NOT want to sit on the phone for possibly 90 minutes and would love for BW IPO to do this for me, so I'm just wondering if you had a good experience when IPO booked this for you? How many "options" did you give them?

Doing this for this first time this year...William at the IPO for WL is happy to take care of this for me and I gave him the date with my choice of restaurants and CP times in order of preference.

I booked it myself the last time we were there but since the BC IPO is willing I have placed a request with them. I think I have a better chance of getting what I want if I leave this in their hands. I hope I am right! :goodvibes

When we did CP last My DH booked it through IPO at AKL, Don is fantantic. This was a booked as a surprise for me. He was able to get exactly what my DH had requested without a problem. We had dinner at Coral Reef (it was superb) and we had great seat for the processional.

Great! Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! Fingers crossed we can all get our top choices :thumbsup2

We're staying CL at AKL this week if anyone has any specific questions! Loving it!

No kidding?! We check in next Wednesday. How is the food at night? Overall CL?? Glad you said "loving it"...we are looking forward to our visit. Enjoy the rest of your stay:thumbsup2

Thanks!

Are the food offerings being replenished pretty quickly?
When we stayed at CR CL, there wasn't much in terms of choices & the food went fast. It was disappointing to go for a snack & most of the food was gone.

Yes please!!! Want to know everything! We are going in Aug.
Are the CL rooms any different? I guess they're on the 4th floor?
Toiletries in room?
Food? What evening appys are they serving?
Tea- do they have clotted cream & jam with the scones?
We booked Sunrise Safari, did you go? Thoughts?

And anything else you can think of to tell :good vibes Thanks!

Oh yes, did you do on line check in?

It's like chum in the water. Food comes out and WOOSH. It's gone like time-lapse photography!
Last we stayed AKL CL that was the case. When we stayed at the Poly CL, that was the case too. The only place it didn't happen for us anyway, was when we stayed at the GF RPC. I don't like it to be some feeding frenzy. That really ruins the experience for me. I'm anxious to high heaven anyway, so to have to elbow at people just to get a snack just bums me out. This stay we'll be in a DVC AKL -CL villa which are right next to teh lounge s we don't have to come from wherever just to be disappointed. Our last stay was before the renovations so we had quite the l-o-n-g walk to get to the lounge before. Not sure how far people have to go now. I wasn't planning on trying the AKL CL again, but I was able to get a 1BR w/ my points so I thought I'd give it a shot, mainly to do the sunrise safari again. With things getting leaner and leaner though, I'm not optimistic.

Our last stay Poly CL in September the food was refreshed right up until closing. One night it was five minutes before closing and they brought out two new trays of desserts.

We experienced this, as well, at the Poly (most recently in October 2011). Much more so than at our most recent stay at BC CL (we returned last Monday). There were often empty platters for quite a while during the evening services. The breakfast and snack services always seemed plentiful, though.

We are staying AKL CL in August. Per the Disney website in the reservations section, there is wording to the effect that all Kilimanjaro Club rooms have a savannah view. On the Disboards thread about AKL CL its says the rooms come with either a pool or a savannah view. I wonder if anyone here could clarify this...

Is there a resort map that shows where the CL rooms are?

Also if anyone has a picture of their view from AKL CL (Jambo) I'd love to see.

Thanks so much.

I thought you get an Arusha view room too. Maybe the pool or savanna views pertain to the dvc cl rooms that are on 5 & 6th floor. Regular cl rooms are on 4th floor but I think are mixed in with the regular rooms? Or are the Cl rooms in 1 section of the 4th floor? Anyone know! Curious.

We checked out of AKL CL a week ago and had a blast! Our room was overlooking the Arusha savannah and had lots of animals daily to watch from our balcony.

The food was awesome! Breakfast had great choices of bagels, danishes, croissants, oatmeal, cereals, muffins and the fruit was amazing. Also yogurts, juices, milks, kick butt espresso machine and coffees and teas. The afternoon snack were cookies, goldfish, gummy bears, trail mix with sodas in the fridge, juices and milk. The evening appetizers were different every night, but they also had cheeses, veggies, breads, hummus. The fridge had sodas, milk, juice and beer at night and out with the food were chilled bottles of wine. The desserts at night were amazing too with cordials, but we never drank those, just kept drinking the wine.

The food and drinks was never ending, if something was low they replenished it. Even at snack time if I wanted a beer after a long day at the park, they brought it out for me. The last evening at AKL it rained for 8 hours straight, like a monsoon and a bunch of families just hung around the conceriege lounge from snack time until 10 pm. The people working there said that since the weather was so bad outside they didn't mind that we hung around and enjoyed the food and drinks. It was nice because all the kids had a great time. There was coloring for the kids, a wii set up during snack time for the kids to play. The kids food was good too. Carrot sticks, cucumbers, grapes, ham and cheese roll ups and cheese pizza. There was also a coloring contest one night and when we got back to the room the girls had goody bags full of stickers and stamps.

We were treated like royalty and completley spoiled!

I don't know about the location of the regular rooms anymore as the last I stayed in one, it was prior to the DVC rennovations, but half of the DVC CL rooms are pool view, the other half are savannah. I suspect the regular rooms are all savannah. That would make sense of the wording form Disney.

I am sooooo excited! Snagged a AKLV CL DVC studio for 4 nights in February:banana:

Sounds wonderful, thanks for posting your thoughts! I am so looking forward to our stay :yay:

I will be very happy to have a savannah view - we are all so excited to be going! Thanks to all of you for the info!

Are the CL rooms any different? I guess they're on the 4th floor?
-no...Arusha savanna view on the 4th floor unless you're dvc.

Toiletries in room?
The new h2o stuff....the smell is a little strong for my taste.

Food? What evening appys are they serving?
-so far they are rotating the apps....we haven't had the same thing twice yet. I was surprised to learn that the kids have their own table of offerings. My kids are well fed! Lol
Tea- do they have clotted cream & jam with the scones?
-yes.
We booked Sunrise Safari, did you go? Thoughts?
-nope! Sorry!

And anything else you can think of to tell
-the lounge has been very noisy, I wish I would have realized that it would be since it's open to the lobby three floors below. Not very relaxing.

Oh yes, did you do on line check in?
-no. We checked in at about 11am and our room wasn't ready until about 2.

Honestly it's been hit or miss. I don't know why it's not more consistent. :confused3 the staff is definitely doing their best, though. They have been lovely.
