I haven't decided on whether we will do on-line check in or not. This is our 1st club level stay. We usually do the on-line check in. Lots of people discuss the "special experience" at check in for CL, or the "spiel" you get. Can someone elaborate? I'm trying to decide if this is something I could do without, or if I should just go with it in order to not miss out on some the CL experience. :goodvibes

I'm a little worried to do online checkin--- especially staying club level, I like the personal touch of doing check in at the lounge desk, and I think I like the ability to talk to a person face to face in the event a room request may be able to be arranged if it was overlooked, etc.... I don't think I'll be using the online checkin for our POLY CL stay in Sept....I think I'll just be sticking to the old way and hoping it turns out well :)

I was worried but I was told not to be -- that we will still have the same check-in only it will be faster. They know about our room request, and if they ignored it, I will still be there to speak up. I'm sure it'll be ok either way.

I don't think that checking in on-line does anything except shorten the time you are waiting for them to get all your CC info. We've never done it before -- always just did it the old way. I don't get what is so "special" about CL check-in, except that we are usually sitting down and that we don't have to wait in a big line at the normal front desk. Many stays CL and it's not that there is something extra (except they'll tell you about the lounge), just maybe that it's a little more personal and less rushed.

I'll let you all know how it goes. The IPO says they know our room requests, so that this shouldn't make a difference. But since they are only requests, it'll be hard to tell the effects of the on-line check-in anyway...

Since its your first CL stay, then I would say skip the online part and sit at the desk and let them do the spiel. The only "special" part is being taken up to the CL area to check in, instead of waiting on line in the lobby (usually ;) If no one greets you, let them know you are a CL guest and you should be taken upstairs.)

I'll let you know if we get to miss the spiel -- from all accounts the only thing we will miss is the running of our CC -- but I do really want a fast check-in at the YC so I'm hoping this will help! I don't want to sit there checking in when we could be at the park!!!:rotfl:

I am guessing we will probably miss you now that I pushed my flight. I don't think we will get to the YC until around 11 am, so you should be long since settled by then!

The only place we have had a long check in was at BWI, but that was because we arrived at shift change or something. No one met us at the DME bus, the line in the lobby was long, there was no one from CL to come get us (they finally sent us with a bellman) and then we sat at the desk in that strange hallway for awhile since the lady checking us in was just clocking in herself.

Our check in last year at YC was REALLY short because the computers were crazy and couldn't print anything or process credit cards! :rotfl: They had already printed our packet and we had room access, but with a blank key. They felt terrible, but since we have AP's and no DDP, it was no big deal for us. When we stopped by the desk around dinnertime, everything was fixed, new keys had already been printed and they swiped our CC quickly and we were on our way.

This is what I was thinking, I'll just skip it and get the "whole experience". :goodvibes

Hopefully we will be at Epcot by then (assuming it all works as planned -- which doesn't always happen). ;) But I'm sure we'll see you in the lounge. :goodvibes

For some reason, we had a super-long check-in at the BC last time. We just wanted to get to our room, settle in, and get on with our trip. But the CM was dragging it out... Sometimes I try to politely tell them "we've stayed here before so we know where things are" but they don't always listen.:rotfl:

Question on Disney florist deliveries

I'm having 3 gifts delivered one of them that I know will need to be set up. Will the CL CM do this when it's delivered if your out?

It's roses on a silver tray with a bracelet and Mickey chocolates for DD15 and pirate chest with candies and pirate goodies for dS11 and Dh

I am sure they will. This may not be helpful, but I did a gift from Disney Florists during our last trip. We were not staying club level but they did set it up beautifully when we were out. I am wondering if the florists actually do that for you? I had ordered two gifts for my twins on their actual birthday and I was a little nervous about it...but as soon as we walked in the room from the parks it was magical. They did such a nice job. I think if you wanted it to be set up a particular way though, you probably could just ask a CL CM and I bet they would do that for you too!! Have a great vacation!!!

Thanks Walla! My dh orders me flowers every yr from Disney florist but you just put those on a table so I was unsure.

I have been reading for a long time, and you guys are so helpful... but I still have a couple of questions..

1. Do you have to sign in when you use the lounge? I stay " Concierge level" at the hilton a lot, and that is always required.
2. I am staying at Animal kingdom lodge. I see that club level rooms are on the 4th, but the lounge is on the 6th. Is everyone on the 6th flor club level also? Or do you have to scan your key to get in.
Last questions..
3. Can the club level concierge add your park tickets to your room key? Or do I have to go to the concerige on the main floor. We decided not to do a package this year.
4. Do i leave room requests with ipo or the cro?

Anything is helpful!:goodvibes

This is a random question/ comment that I have to get off my mind before I forget.

Last year at F&W my mom had a problem with a CM at Epcot not accepting her KTTW card for room charges. She emphatically said it was not a valid charging card. That CM was obviously not familiar with the yellow CL key, but by the time I caught up with my mom she had already paid cash.

Anyone else had this situation anywhere else? Did you just ask the CM to try the transaction and see if it works?

We never had a problem with not being able to charge to it, but to be honest very few CMs knew what the yellow card meant so I wouldn't be surprised if they thought it meant something else!

I have had park CM's ask me what the yellow card meant.

But, unless it says NOT VALID FOR CHARGING on it, it should have been fine.

Do you recall where she was trying to use it?

I know there are a few places in Epcot -- like the coffee stands -- that do not accept Disney resort cards for charging back to the room. You either pay cash or credit card.

Also true at the places in MK that do the silhouettes.

If not at one of the places, then I would guess the CM just wasn't familiar with the gold cards.

I can kind of answer a couple of these. ;)

1. No signing in required. (Hyatt does that, too, BTW.)
2. Sorry, don't know this one.
3. They should be able to.
4. I give mine to IPO.

Yet another twist on the "should I do online check-in for my CL reservation" conversation...

In the past I was told not to, that there was no need, whenever I asked the IPO office.

Today I was told that it would be better to do it. The CM said it was a definite change in their recommendations (he is the one who advised me against it in the past).

So at the advice of the IPO CM, I did do the online check-in for our upcoming stays at the YC and AKL. Hopefully everything will go smoothly...

I got a response from IPO today, because I asked if they could coordinate my rooms with my stay being split 6 & 6 non CL, & CL to be near - 4th floor, and whether I should do on line check in. They said, On line check in for CL isn't necessary.

I just gave my room requests to IPO and they e mailed me back saying they took care of it.

Just returned fro Coronado Springs tonight and planning our 2014 return for our 25th Anniversary and have a few questions...

First let me say the only club level we have done is the POLY...

We honestly LOVE it but are considering others, the only drawback to POLY was not having REAL coffee.

With that said...here is what matters most to us...

REAL coffee
Fruit and veggies for snacks
beer and wine in evening
diet coke for DH
water for me
access to lounge all day

Which club levels would cover these?
