Looking for a little advice regarding my room request at Poly...

At the moment, we've got the following on our reservation:
"top floor balcony."

I know it's all luck of the draw but if that is granted, then we'd be super happy (don't like hearing people stomping overhead). What I'm wondering about is the noise levels on the third floor and whether I should add "quiet room" to the request? Not sure how noisy things are in relation to the lounge, etc. I don't want to be too bothersome with my requests and my first and foremost desire would be to get a top floor room. Any advice most welcome! Who knows, with your advice, I might stop calling myself Eggo. :thumbsup2;)

Lounge noise shouldn't be a problem in any of the third floor rooms. A room nearer to the lounge entrance might have more noise from guests entering and/or exiting the elevator or stairs. We have been in rooms fairly close to the lounge on the third floor and we encountered no noise other than unruly guests which you have on any floor. I really wouldn't worry about it too much. :thumbsup2

Thanks CRFan & Tess, voices of reason.:laughing:

I woke up last night and for whatever reason, it popped in my mind that I should come and ask about the noise level from the lounge. :surfweb: Seriously, I need to stop it now before the men with the white coats come to cart me off -- got a whole 2 months + of waiting. :lmao:

*breathes deep* Oooooooooohm.

for those that have been to AKL club level, when booking I am given the choice of arushka savannah view or if I chose club it is a standard savannah view. I am at a loss of what to do. Is arushka a better view or is it worth it just to do the standard savannah view with the club level???

If it makes you feel better there are some nights when I think to myself about our upcoming trips to WDW and what things we need to request and etc. Recently before we added a few days at the Beach Club I was thinking should we go there or try the Grand Floridian, well once we decided on the Beach Club I was able to relax.

Circusgirl, you never fail to please:worship:. Your photos are gorgeous and that view - WOW. We're booked GV, but your LV is just dreamy and has me wondering if I "need" to upgrade... Thanks for indulging me (and my DH and DD who just love your photos, too):goodvibes

BTW, if you just happen to have anymore Poly photos that are just begging for IMG codes...popcorn::

:thumbsup2

Well perhaps just a few more. :goodvibes
The lagoon view really was spectacular. Knowing it was a special moment in time I made the most of it and spent way more time in my room than usual, and enjoyed every minute!

Circusgirl......Your pics are awesome.....thanks so much for posting them :). We love the Poly and have stayed there before (although not CL), so I booked GV CL for December and now after seeing your pics I'm even more excited to try it :goodvibes. Thanks again for sharing :wizard:.

You will have a fabulous stay! It is great to have a new experience at a favorite place.

Circusgirl,
Those pictures of your room look great and thanks for posting them.

You are most welcome!

Circusgirl, WOW! What fab pics you've posted! We have GV CL for our upcoming trip, but that room view is to DIE for.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

You're very welcome! One of the reasons I love the Poly so much is that the garden view rooms do have beautiful views of the grounds, and give you that immersion in a tropical paradise feeling. I've stayed garden view on most of my prior trips, and always enjoyed my outlook.

Yippee, my daily Poly photo fix! I was just showing your previous lounge photos (again:rolleyes1) to my DD12 who said they looked great! She thought the coconut head holding the stirrers was cute.

Everyday now I wonder to myself, "I sure hope Circusgirl finds a few more photos to post." I hope you don't run out until I leave two weeks from today:laughing:

Those photos are gorgeous and I think I forgot to ask what camera body/lens are you using?

If it makes you feel better ...

Yep, it does. Just gonna try to tone down the obsessing -- at least until a week out -- if I'm lucky.

Circusgirl: More gorgeous photos! Thank you! :worship: What camera are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT: LOLOLOL, WDWKOOK: I didn't see your exact same question being asked... great minds?

YES! GREAT minds:thumbsup2 We're both obsessive about trips, Lapu Lapus, Poly CL and now - cameras:rotfl:. Since we leave two weeks from today (but we'll be at the Poly three weeks from tomorrow:)), I just finished our packing list. Woohoo - I LOVE lists!

Circusgirl,
The more photos you post they keep getting even better. :thumbsup2

Thanks for helping me encourage her to keep posting. I'll have to repay her the favor by posting my photos soon;)

I cannot wait for your updates and pics -- and, in particular, your experiences/views on the Poly CL. Speaking of lists, how completely certifiable is it that I'm making my "what we're wearing each day" list 75+ days out? :crazy2:

VERY completely certifiable. Not because it's 75 days out, but because each day has a prescribed outfit!

I dress depending on my mood, just like George Costanza did on Seinfeld:laughing:. It must make you feel better to be that "planned" so there's nothing wrong with that, but I couldn't abide by that list. Do you pack your suitcase in the order in which you're wearing your outfits? Or do you just put them in the drawers in the "right" order?:rotfl: Does DH cross-check your list or do you just admonish him if he wears the "wrong" outfit?

Ok. I love lists. And i have a packing list but I cant predecide what I am going to wear. BUT if it works for you then I think it is awesome you can work it out 75 days in advance. :woohoo:

Wow, I didn't even notice... it's not 75 days out, it's only 72 days out -- that makes it all better doesn't it? ;)

:rotfl::rotfl: I think I do it for the "more thought into the planning = less thought required whilst there" aspect. Saves me time, because if I didn't do it, I'd sit there and waffle over what I should wear and what my daughter should wear. Every. Single. Morning. On the other hand, my husband is lucky enough when I pack the required amount of undies. The real insane thing is, I don't do this on anything else... ever. Just vacations. My lists for grocery shopping are pathetic and always lacking something I really need. Vacations = anal retentive; everything else in life = total disorganization.

 I was even doing a trial run yesterday to make sure everything I'm going to pack actually fits. Yep. Totally insane.

Certifiable? Here's my packing list from my WDW trip when I was 13 years old:

clothesh.jpg

3 separate columns ("set up, packed, loose"... what the ...??)
Checkmarks, circles, circles with dots inside them :confused3

My obsessive compulsive nature has not changed in the intervening years. I was certifiable then and I'm certifiable now. :lmao:

"New pink top" and "NEW NEW pink top"?! This is the greatest.list.ever! Your penmanship is beautiful, perfect spelling, great descriptions - this reminds me of the lists of my youth:laughing:. Your mom must have been so proud of you:goodvibes

Yesterday, I finished our packing list and showed it to DD12 for approval. She asked how far back my WDW lists go. The best I could come up with was that at one time, I think I actually hand wrote them like you did when you were 13, but I was in my late 20's. Here I am 43 and still enjoying every list. My favorite part of a list is when I can cross something off - ah, what pleasure.

Now that we're admitting to being OC list makers, I think we need our own little DIS club;). But first I have to go make a list...

BTW, to make this post more legitimate for this thread, yesterday evening I switched our non-CL CR reservation to the WL/CL. Yes, a new list:hyper:

I think we need an "OCD DIS Lovin' List Makin' Maniacs" group :rotfl:

I make lists of lists :sad2: I will only admit that on the DIS. The fist list will be general items and then the secondary list will have the specific items under that category. IE the first list will say clothes and then there will be a list of specific clothing items and everyone gets their own set of list. Excel is my best friend! :rotfl:

OMG! I am so with you on this! I went so far on the daily clothes planning for my last trip that I actually brought one of those hanging shelves with the days of the week and had my son's clothes organized for each day. That way if my husband or mother dressed him one day he would still be in the "correct" outfit. I am so not like this at home though.

saquin - You know what I noticed about the list that is so very OCD? Not only are all the column and row lines carefully drawn with some type of straight edge, your rows are drawn over the top of the existing lines printed on the paper. And your row lines are EXACTLY on top of the printed lines! :rotfl:
