Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

I thought I'd ask this again. If I'm staying concierge, will the CMs make sure the oxygen and concentrator is delivered to the room whether we are there or not? If this is not part of their duties, I understand. I'm more interested in the help I could possibly get, rather than the food or qualitity of the ammenities.

The easiest thing to do would be to email the IPO for an answer.

How will concierge change my stay?

Ok, so, what's the really really on how it will change my stay:

-Easier, quicker check in
-Continental breakfast
-Pre Dinner Snacks
-Post Dinner Dessert

Is that it?

-Will they make ADRs for you right at your very earliest 180 day mark to get hard to get ressies like CRT & Le Cellier?
-When are beer and wine available? If it is in the evening, can you get it and take it back to your room?
-Anything else?

I know no one else can answer the "is it worth it question" because that's all relativre. However, I'm hoping to get some perspective on what it will give me so I can determine if those things are worth it to us.

Note: we'll likey be at CR in TPV room.

Beer and Wine is available in the evening. We always grab a couple of beers to keep in the room. As for wine, yes you can take your glass back to the room, but most CM's will not give you a bottle to take back. Also, I have been able to get a beer from the CM's late in the afternoon upon request. Ditto for a glass of wine during the dessert time.

Yes, they will make ADR's for you on the 180th day. And yes, they will keep checking on those hard to get ones in the event that they can't get it on the first day.

As for wine, yes you can take your glass back to the room, but most CM's will not give you a bottle to take back. Also, I have been able to get a beer from the CM's late in the afternoon upon request. Ditto for a glass of wine during the dessert time.

In December 2010 while I was talking with one of the Boardwalk Inn Club Level Cast Members a guest came up and asked if they could have a bottle of Wine to take back to their room. Well she was told they are not allowed to give out full bottles, however the guest was told she was welcome to drink all the glasses she wanted while inside the lounge. Then the guest started saying the day before another Cast Member gave a guest a bottle of Wine and then went on to complain that nothing had been right for her stay since she checked-in. Personally I thought that guest was lying what she saw because what a perfect time to complain when a Cast Member was enforcing a standard rule about the lounge. As for what she claims about seeing a guest take their a bottle of Wine back to their room, it could have been a bottle of the Evian water which guests are allowed to ask for or maybe that guest brought their own bottle of wine.

I have also been given a couple of Beer's to between 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM while at the Boardwalk Inn and Polynesian after they were taken away. In fact on my most recent BWI Club Level stay just before 10:00 PM one of the Cast Members asked me if I wanted the last Beer they had, since they were getting ready to close for the evening and I said sure why not. At the Contemporary I noticed that since they added a fridge inside the Atrium Club lounge the beer is kept inside it until 10:00 PM, so over there you don't need to ask for some after 7:00 PM.

They told us they are going to change the daily hot and cold appetizers starting this coming Sunday. They said there will be 16 new and different appetizers during the week. Additionally we were toldthey plan on changing the offerings seasonally in the future. We will be on our way home Sunday but look forward to hearing about the offerings from people visiting over the coming months.

That's great news! Maybe club level will finally be worth what Disney charges us! I hope the YC will do the same. Last month most of the hot offerings were he same as they were on our last stay, 2 years ago.

I wonder if that's going to happen in all the Club Level lounges because during my August/September 2011 Club Level stay at the Boardwalk Inn, I was told that very soon they would also be getting a new menu of food items from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. They just didn't know exactly when that will happen.

As to beer and wine availability, I have found that they will get it for you any time of day.
In regards to guests taking wine back to the room, I have never asked for one in any of our club level stays, but I have been handed one to take back to our room on three occasions, three different resorts, so it does happen, but I don't think they are supposed to.
