Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

We just returned from our Contemporary Atrium Club visit. I was expecting to be brought immediately up to the 12th floor for check-in, but the lobby staff didn't really know what to do with us (possibly because we arrived early in the morning because we wanted to get our KTTW before going to the park). We were directed to the front desk, where they issued our keys and sent us up to the 12th floor to continue checking in. This worked fine, but it would have been really annoying had there been a line and we had to wait just to get the key. We had picked up our park tickets 2 days earlier, and we didn't even have to ask for the tickets to be moved to our KTTW, despite being warned that the hotel might not be able to do it.

The staff was very warm and friendly - they always greeted us and asked us about our day. If we mentioned we were headed to do something, they would remember where we were going and ask specifically about that when we returned.

We decided to change our plans mid-week, and they were able to book a signature dinner and a lunch at the Plaza with little notice. There was always something out in the lounge - breakfast, cookies, fruit, appetizers, etc. The homemade potato chips in the afternoon were particularly good. I had read here that the appetizers sometimes disappear quickly, but the staff was very fast to restock while we were there.

I grabbed a Diet Coke or beer each time we passed, and DH, who is a bit of a coffee snob, thought the cappuccino machine was excellent for a non-industrial machine.

This one is kind of silly, but I really liked having my park purchases delivered to the room. During our last stay when the parks had extended hours, there were a couple of times when it was hard to get to the resort store to pick them up, so having them magically waiting for us was nice.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay, and while I'm sure we didn't get our "money's worth," the conveniences were very nice, and we will definitely consider staying there again if we find a good deal.

Thanks for posting you're review and it's great you enjoyed staying there.

This is becoming a trend! Seems the positive Atrium Club reviews have been very consistent lately.

I don't think there's anything silly about liking your park purchases delivered to your room. Not too many years ago, this was standard for everyone. It's also interesting to hear that they were able to put your park tix onto your KTTW cards. That really is much more convenient.

Thank you for posting your Atrium Club review:goodvibes

I know it's a little late to be asking this (we leave tomorrow :cool1:), but I remember from our visit last year that we needed a special paper to give to the parking attendent at the Poly as we arrive. I think it was gold, and said that we were staying CL. I haven't received anything like that - have they done away with that?? Or am I just nuts, and nobody's heard of this before :lmao:

I asked about that when I read someone else's post about the "gold paper" at the Poly and the WL IPO, which is the same as the Poly IPO, told me in July that all you need to do is give the gate guard an ID card and tell them you're a CL guest.

Have a great vacation!

You guys are the best - thanks so much for the quick response!! I kind of figured they'd still let me check in without "the paper", but I'm in last minute panic mode at the moment :rotfl2:

At the Boardwalk Inn we got a gold parking pass from the guard shack after we told them our name, however they didn't give those same gold parking passes at the Contemporary and Beach Club for those guests staying Club Level. Instead they put a big C on the pass to indicate that guest was staying Club Level. As for the Polynesian when we stayed Club Level there in December 2007 I don't remember the parking pass we got being gold, unless it has changed since then.

When we pulled up to the GF for checkin,we gave our name and told the guard we were checking in. He had our parking pass and it was a regular pass that had a c in the upper corner written in marker. When we pulled up the concierge was standing there waiting with the bellman. Maybe similar to the Poly? Enjoy your trip!!!!!!

Just got back from a week long stay at BCR Club Level. We had a great time and were very impressed with the Club Level service and offerings. Let me know if you have any questions!

Just got our IPO intro email (which seems strange since we reserved in July). We've already made our dining reservations, but we have a celebration (my brother's engagement!) to note!

We booked a trip back in July and haven't heard from IPO yet so I am going to shoot them an email tomorrow. We have never gone during Food and Wine, do you guts know if IPO is able to book the events for me?

Yes:)

Hey everyone - we returned on the 24th from our first Poly CL trip. I'm slowly recovering from my post vacation depression and starting to post some info / reviews!!
Just wanted to let those staying Poly CL soon that on our next to last day they were no longer using the glass bottles of Evian. They had swapped those out and put in one of the same dispensers that they use for the juices / milk for water!

I was glad to find this forum. We are new to DIS and are heading to WL CL on Oct 26. We can't wait!!!!!! We have stayed club level before and the WL is our girls first choice. Vacation can't come fast enough..

:welcome: to the DIS, EmmaMagsMom!

I have many WL/CL photos on the first page of the WL thread that you can link to in my signature.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Hi! I need some advice regarding my trip this coming February. My family is booked currently in the Hawaii bldg of the Poly. We picked this option because we wanted concierge, a monerail resort, and were looking for the "best price" as far as that criteria goes. Well, with the new visa cardmember discount that was released the Poly discount is only 30% while the GF discount is 35%. Therefore, for us to switch to the sugarloaf bldg would save us about $70 total. Now, I'm not really worried about the extra $70 just wondering what you would do? Is sugar loaf "better" than poly hawaii, or is the poly concierge better than sugar loaf? I have only stayed concierge in the RPC before, so I just don't know what I should pick this time. any opinions would be very much appreciated. (Pictures would be great too!)

We've never stayed on concierge level but have stayed at all other levels. DD is on oxygen so we have special needs. Value will deliver her oxygen even if I'm not in the room, or I can pick it up myself, but with the other levels they must wait till I'm in the room before they will deliver it. This can cause a problem if DD is out of oxygen. I would like to upgrade to a nicer resort, but the stress of the oxygen keeps me going back to the values. So, I thought of staying concierge, if they could help me with ensuring her O2 was delivered to the room without us waiting for it. However, if this is not part of the service they offer, I don't want to put more duties on them. Does anyone know if this is allowed, or should I just stay with what has been tried and true.

I thought I'd ask this again. If I'm staying concierge, will the CMs make sure the oxygen and concentrator is delivered to the room whether we are there or not? If this is not part of their duties, I understand. I'm more interested in the help I could possibly get, rather than the food or qualitity of the ammenities.

We just returned on Monday, and I saw (and used) the water dispenser. However, we did ask one evening for water, and they gave us three glass bottles to take back to our room - so they still had them, just weren't putting them out :thumbsup2

I'm sorry, pampam - I don't know the answer to this. Hopefully someone who does know will come along soon...
Could you call and ask?
