Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

For the past few days I have been checking the Annual Pass rates and the fall/winter room only promotion rates and so far for my dates this December a Deluxe Club Level Room at the Boardwalk is not available. The specifc dates are December 9th - December 23rd. Now I plan to keep checking everyday because I know that's the best thing to do, but if it doesn't become available at least we still have our Standard Club Level Room at the Boardwalk already reserved which we got as a Bounceback rates, so I will still be happy with that. However I will admit having the view of the Boardwalk/Water area was great to have and the extra TV was nice. Anyway I was just wondering what anyone thinks the odds are of their Deluxe Rooms becoming available with either one of those discounted promotions with our dates? I also realize only so many rooms are available on each promotion, however the Deluxe Rooms are also sold out with the regular rates where no discounts are involved.

I had a very specific room/view request on a trip last April. I checked twice a day under the spring room only on the website. It finally popped up on the website one night around 12 am! So I would check twice a day if you can. Not much help I know. Did you post on the Boardwalk thread?

Personally, I think a deluxe CL will always win out over a MOD! :goodvibes Looking forward to our Deluxe CL stay at BC this FEB! :lovestruc
I truly enjoy the Club Level ammenities, and I also don't think I'd ever want to stay NON-CL....My first CL stay at AKL in Jan 2008 has spoiled me forever from staying non-CL.....I will always pay to upgrade, it's just the style of vacation our family enjoys! I hope you enjoy wherever you decide to stay and have a wonderful vacation!

I also love CL, this will be our 4 CL stay and I don't think I could ever return to a regular stay, love it.

We would love to stay Poly club level this trip, but cannot get a discount code for it. We have the bounceback offer right now for Garden View we keep calling to see if they have released anymore rooms but no luck.

Here are my questions:

Has anyone had Luck with a code and club level?

We are willing to pay for it do you think upon check in I can see if they have anything available?

Any other advice or tricks? This is my DH's only request but I cannot see paying rack for it that would just be crazy:scared1:

ETA: we will be visiting from 12/09 to 12/18

wow:scared1: i keep swaying from one to the other(staying at POR or Delx/CL) thanks for the feed back DLBS and chimo2u. It does make me feel a little better that with what POR offers your still willling to still go with a Delk/CL. I have to make a choice here pretty quick to take advantage of next years free dinning plan. We are looking at the end of September of 2011 or end of Oct. I know that the free dinning plan does not go untill the end of Oct, so I have that to think and plan for to.:cool1:

I have gotten codes for club level, but they don't seem to release as many for them. It seems you are going around Christmastime, so the odds aren't great something will open up. can you change your dates?sometimes if you can paly with your dates by jus a few days etc. you can get something. GL

There is a travel agency offering discounts (group rates) online for POLY CL. It might match up to your dates. It's under the agency exclusive section of the website, it's the TA that Tikiman recommends, but I don't think we're allowed to post the name? Can't PM you, you have that feature disabled...

I am actually going to post this question on the Boardwalk thread right now.

We moved from a garden wing suite to a 14th floor 1 BR suite MK view last week. We are looking forward to it. Love CR...can't wait to see how they do CL there.

We are not using a dining plan when we go in the Spring. Normally, I plan out our week and make dinner reservations 4-6 months ahead of time. I wondered if we want to make reservations once we get there if the CL concierge will be able to get us tables that week? Do you find that everything books up well in advance or just the restaurants on the dining plan?

Depends on the restaurant and time of year; oh, and how much you really want to eat at a particular restaurant. I would never leave it to chance - I always have my ADRs booked 3 to 6 months ahead of time.

While the CMs in the Lounge will be happy to make reservations for you, they can't get you an ADR for a restaurant that's booked.

Which restaurants do you have in mind?

I asked IPO this question last week. They told me
"We suggest booking as many things as you think your party might like to
do. Our restaurants are very popular and tend to book up very quickly."
With that info I went ahead and booked 4 dinners using 5 TS. I am hoping that I can get reservations once we get down there for our 2 remaining TS. It'll be February we should be fine. I don't want to have my entire week laid out for me like I did last year. We want to kinda 'wing it' this time.

When I was checking even just before we left this past NYE the deluxe rooms kept bouncing in and out of availability. I didn't need one, but I did see them quite a few times. :goodvibes Just keep checking and the chances are that one will pop up for you! :thumbsup2

I kept checking for an AP rate for Deluxe CL at BWI for my July stay. It was available at full rate then not at all then finally with an AP rate. In the end I stayed with a standard CL room because my DS said he really loved the daybed in the standard room and I was afraid he'd not love the sofa bed in a deluxe room. And I had already spent the money I "saved" by sticking with a standard CL room on a new camera.

We ended up with a BW view room which was great but the garden view rooms are nice too-can see Illuminations from those. Just like the MK view at CR is great but the Bay Lake view is lovely too.

we leave next week and are staying at the Contemporary atrium level. Do you think they would stock the refrigerator with a few chocolate milks for my daughter?

If you ask one of their Club Level Cast Members they keep some mini bottles of Nestle Quick Chocolate Milk in the back, so they should be able to give you some.

Well if we don't change our reservation and end up with the Garden View I am sure we will still like it a lot.

My TA said there were a few conferences going on at the CR the week I will be there and that the hotel is booked solid during the first few days of our stay. We were able to get the room type we wanted and everything, but I just wanted to ask if any of you have ever experienced the Atrium Club ever being overly crowded?

My guess is the conferences won't affect the club lounge experience?

I guess I will need to sit down and see if there are any that we just have to go to this time. We like to have one sit down meal in the evenings. My husband wants to try V&A this time. We also enjoyed the seafood at Cape May last time.

Anyone have any suggestions on some really nice places that are not on the dining plan? I thought theymight be a little less crowded. It seems like once Disney started offering the "free" dining, the masses have showed up! :scared1: I would like to avoid that if possible.

In all of my Atrium Club stays there were two times when the lounge was crowded.

The first time was in August 2009, however that was because some people staying up there invited like 25 - 30 of their family and friends and they were very loud. How do I know they were not staying up there, we spoke to one of the Club Level Cast Members about them and later that night in the lounge they put up sings saying it was reserved for guests staying up there, which they never needed to use before.

The second time was last month because there were no tables when we walked into the lounge, however we only waited about 5 minutes until some other guests got up to leave.

Now I also wouldn't worry about the conferences effecting the Atrium Club because unless those guests want to make a reservation up there, usually they are assigned other Tower rooms or Garden Wing rooms.
