The only Pineapple products I remember seeing was their Pineapple Bread which was served during breakfast, however I do remember reading that they stopped offering it.

..............such a shame too. It was really a favorite in the lounge. I don't understand why they stopped it!!??

BRONTE....Don't worry, there are plenty of other snacks in the lounge aside from pineapple! :goodvibes

We went in Nov. 06 and Nov. 09. It is a fabulous tour, but the did not give us a FP in 09.

That's correct. They stopped giving out FPs at least 2 years ago. But truth be told, after the awesome Sunrise Safari experience, I need to wait a day or 2 to do the regular safari ride -- it's just not the same! Now if they would just give out Expedition Everest FPs, that would save a lot of us from making a run to the FP machine after the safari, before the breakfast!! :rotfl:

I posted this in the Poly thread, but thought I'd ask here too....

I have read good and bad about club lounge manners...I want to avoid any "feeding frenzies". If I were wanting to partake of the 5-7 offerings, would I be best to go around 5, or avoid when it first opens?

I admit, I get a little freaked out at the thoughts of people sneezing on something I may eat. :lmao:

OH, and since this is club level, if I wanted them to find something like a Disney stuffed cat to have in the room for my daughter, would they do something like that? (first time staying club here!)
In my experience when staying Club Level at the Contemporary and Polynesian I have found it doesn't matter if you go between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM because each time when the lounge is about to run out of a specific food item or it has run out of something, it was always replaced within a few minutes.

As for some good and bad manners the only bad thing I have seen is guests leaving dirty plates and etc on the tables, when they couldn't walk a few feet to the tray in the lounge where they should go. I mean everyone should be able to see it because it's always set up right next to the food offerings. So that's one thing I would like to let you know before getting there.

I just switched over from Poly GV to GF GV to GF SL. WHEW! I'm really excited about staying Club Level at the GF. We've stayed CL at the Poly and CR and LOVED it.

I have some questions about SL:

1. What requests should I make? I know the rooms either face the marina or pool. Which is better? Any photos of these views?

2. I know there are 3 lodge tower rooms by request only in Sugar Loaf. Do they have balconies?

3. Is there a way to request NOT to get a dormer room? I'm not interested in the smaller room and solid balcony. Or should I not worry about this since a lot of people prob request dormer rooms?

4. Our ADR date is in Feb. Should I contact the IPO?

5. How is the GF's IPO?

6. Are the food offerings in SL the same as RPC?

TIA for all of your help!!! :flower3:

The only thing I know is the Grand Floridian IPO Cast Members are also the same ones who handle requests for the Contemporary Club Level guests, so I am not sure how that effects them helping guests of both resorts and etc. Also from what I have read guests staying in Sugar Loaf get the exact same food offerings like those guests staying in Royal Palm.

The gentleman I have worked with, Dennis, has been wonderful. My 180 day mark is tomorrow. I emailed them Wed or Thurs of last week and they called me early the next morning to talk about my dining requests. He was very pleasant and efficient. I have a very good first impression of GF's IPO.

That's so good to hear. I'm going to email them tonight.

Well, my 180 day mark is today...GF IPO made all of my ADRs just as I had asked. We've got Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast, Cindy's Table for breakfast, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Donald's Safari Breakfast and the Wonderland Tea Party all lined up. I'm so excited! My girls are going to love, love, love the Tea Party. Now, if only July weren's so far away...

That's how I feel about August :sad2:

Now I'm trying to figure out if I should upgrade to RPC.

we are doing our 1st Club Level stay in September so I plan to spend the next few hours reading this whole thread. My 2 questions are these (although I may find the answers as I read)

1. Is there any reason to contact anyone more than a week before our ADR date? is there anything I should be doing already (our 180 days is in March)

2 How many rooms are Club Level at the Poly? is it a pretty limited number or are there lots?

The Hawaii Longhouse has 3 floors of rooms, so there is a good number of them. However since they go by Garden Wing View, Lagoon View and Theme Park View you need to choose the one you want and that specific view could be sold out.

we have our reservation for Lagoon view I just wan't sure if there were lots of buildings that were considered club or just 1 building

Got the peronalized email from AKL-CL over the weekend.
Can't wait for our October trip.
Just need to plan out adr's and a 1 BR room request by the 6 month mark.

RachelTori,

The YC IPO phone number on the first page of this thread needs to be update to match what you have for BC and BWI.

Thanks!

Has anyone who has stayed on CL and had the Dxdp and found that it was just too much food. I am strongly considering a stay at GF RPC and I do want to take advantage of the offerings, but we like "sit down" meals versus just "grazing" all day. We do plan on doing several signature meals this trip, so that will take 2 TS credits for one meal some days. We might would be inclined to eat in the lounge for breakfast a couple of days and maybe grab a snack at night, but that would probably be all. Part of the fun of WDW to us is all of the great TS meals available. In fact, DH is just not a WDW person and the variety and quality of the better TS meals is a huge draw for him. He says he might as well eat well if he has to endure WDW. He is not a hater, but he just doesn't get this obsession I have. I know CL offers so much more than just food and the trip planning assistance is of much interest to me. Any help on this subject would be much appreciated!

Some people think we are crazy, but we always do the Dxdp!! Our next trip is CL and we are still doing it. Yes...it will be tons of food, but we do like the sit down meals. Our family loves eating out and trying new things...especially the signatures. This is part of the experience for us. I've had several people ask me why I'm doing CL with the dining option...it's like this...not doing CL for the food. We did it for the location of the Hawaii building and the ease of having the IPO. I gave them my list and they got me EVERYTHING that I requested almost down to the exact time. Several of our ressies were hard to get and I needed their help...CRT, Fantasmic Package, LeCeiler, California Grill, etc. The Poly IPOs have been wonderful!!! And like you, we will grab a quick bit to eat in the mornings...will be very convenient with 3 kids. This plan isn't for everyone, but it works well for us.

Happy Planning!
