I'll be there from 1/20 to 1/24. My kids will be the loud ones in the lounge. Our first stay at AKL and our first CL stay - can't wait!
:cool1:See you there!

Well be there Jan 22-25 @ AKL - tried to get CL but theres no more room for that time:sad2:
Maybe we'll see you on the bus!

For dining reservations, do you let IPO take care of it or do you try also? Thanks
I've always been happy to let IPO do it.:thumbsup2

I had the IPO do my initial round of ADRs and then as I changed my mind and added things I just did it myself online. I emailed the IPO the confirm numbers for the ADRs I made myself so they could add it to my itinerary.

My 180 day window openned today and the IPO at AKL took care of it all! I emailed them about a month ago with the ADR I wanted them to schedule. Today I got an email confirmation with the places and times I requested along with ADR confirmation numbers. Such an easy process!

So excited to have booked the Sunrise Safari...We cannot wait :cool1:

I would e-mail them now with your arrival date so they can be ready to book for you when the window opens. Especially since you want CRT. :)

I emailed them last night. They've already called me this morning. I spoke with Dennis, who said he sometimes works over at Sugarloaf. He was fabulous to talk to!

Can you tell me about that? Does the Safari take up a lot of your morning? Can we get into a park at a reasonable hour (we like rope drops)? I don't know much about it, but I think my girls would love it.

we are excited for next week! it's our 1st stay at GF AND we're doing CL style!

Amanda at WL/Poly IPO is awesome. She got us a Christmas stocking that I have been looking for! I saw it in a photo on here and she was able to track it down for me.

Now that is service!! :yay::yay::yay:

The safari group meets at the CL at the resort at 7 AM...They shuttle you over to the AK park for the safari...You are in the park before it opens...After the safari they provide a breakfast at Pizzafari and give you FP for the regular safari ride....Here is the link for more information.

I posted this in the Poly thread, but thought I'd ask here too....

I have read good and bad about club lounge manners...I want to avoid any "feeding frenzies". If I were wanting to partake of the 5-7 offerings, would I be best to go around 5, or avoid when it first opens?

I admit, I get a little freaked out at the thoughts of people sneezing on something I may eat. :lmao:

OH, and since this is club level, if I wanted them to find something like a Disney stuffed cat to have in the room for my daughter, would they do something like that? (first time staying club here!)

If I recall correctly from our AKV visit, the Sunrise Safari is for AKL-CL guests only. CL guests from any resort can book the Wildlife Discovery Excursion though and we did that during our CL trip. The WDE is offered twice a day, Tues-Sat 10a and 1p. We did the afternoon one so that we could do our morning rope drop routine. You can read more about it via danielle782001's link.

If you have any other ?? about the WDE there are lots of us who have done it so don't hesitate to ask. We loved it.

You'll be suprised at how well the kids do in the lounge. They have little stools and the TV is normally always on cartoons in the morning. The kids usually love it and don't mind being there at all.

How long are you there? I'll be there 1/20 to 1/27. Celebrating my DD's 7th birthday on the 21st with a Sunrise Safari.:cool1:

We are just there for a long weekend...so we will miss you all barely...we check out on the 20th so unless you all are in the lounge for breakfast I think we will not meet. The Sunrise Safari is SUPER and a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday!

9 Days till our AKL CL Vacation! I'm so excited. It will be a great Disney start to the year!

Have a great time!!! We will be anxiously awaiting every detail on the AKL Concierge.

Booked a 1 BR CL there for October.

:cool1:

Just curious how you planned your ADR's? Did you look at prior years park hours or something else??
Interested since you said u emailed IPO a month before your 180 day.

Thanks

I was thinking about upgrading to Poly Club level but I have one concern.
My youngest daughter and I are allergic to pineapple ... Does the lounge have a lot of pineapple in the foods they serve ???
I love the resort and I would love to stay at the club level but I am afraid that every time we go to the lounge we will find little to nothing to snack on.
Thanks for any info..

The only Pineapple products I remember seeing was their Pineapple Bread which was served during breakfast, however I do remember reading that they stopped offering it.

Park hours are posted on www.disneyworld.com 6 months in advance. I just checked the hours for July 2010 and sent IPO at the Polynesian my dining wish list.

We went in Nov. 06 and Nov. 09. It is a fabulous tour, but the did not give us a FP in 09.

A little of both. If it is a restaurant I know is hard to get I do it. For things that aren't going to be trouble like tours and such I let them do it. They have allways been able to pull the reservations I make on my own and give me one lovely list.

I can't say about the eating times because so far (knock on wood) I have been lucky enought to not experience any bad manners of others in the lounge. However, we never get there right when they open so maybe that has something to do with it?

Anyway, I have allways found concierge staff very willing to help out with my "shopping" needs. This year they found me the Minnie and Mickey santa hats. They have gotten bday presents we needed and my husband uses them to arrange flowers for me. Just be specific with what you are looking for and I am sure they will be happy to try. When we checked in at AKL several years ago they had wine and wine glasses arranged by me and a huge vase of roses arranged by DH and we were both surprised. They kept each of our secrets and the stuff was waiting in the room along with an extra present from them for DH's bday.
