Forgot about the night offerings. Both nights the food was from Cat Cora's restaurant.

1st night
2 different cold pasta/veggie salads one was mostly orzo pasta the other was mainly chick peas
hummus w/pita and bread
4 different cheeses with crackers
peanut butter jelly rolls (these were awesome, rolled up and sprinkled with powdered sugar!)
apple slices with caramel
hot meatballs (didn't try my son said they were very spicy and he likes hot food)
Phyllo filled with goat cheese and red peppers (these were pretty good)

2nd night
Kalamata Olives and Artichoke (I was so excited to see all the olives they are so good)
Pasta salad (didn't try)
Goat cheese and fresh mozz cheese with crackers
hummus with pita and bread
apple slices and caramel
the yummy powder sugar peanut butter and jelly roll ups
the hot dishes were spinich/goat cheese phyllo pockets and I can not remember the other one sorry!

I really enjoyed the nightly offerings everything was very fresh and wonderful. My husband on the other hand didn't eat much of any of it since it is all out of his comfort zone. My boys did enjoy most of it.

The lounge did come off sort of stuffy, but since I had read so much on this thread I didn't let it bother me. I tend to be a person who can talk...I'll just ask them why they got embalmed while still alive if too stuffy!! ;) If I wouldn't have read this thread I probaly wouldn't have helped myself to all the snacks and beverages, I would have felt self conscience. That was great advice! I figured I paid quite a bit to stay there and I was going to enjoy it as much as I could. Amen! My husband loved it he really liked the breakfast offerings and he enjoyed just being able to help himself in the mornings. Was the breakfast offerings the same each day? Are the rolls at all home made or pre pacaged basic hotel fare? Our kids really thought it was cool to get lemonade in the afternoons and soda whenever they wanted. Do they have any water available to take? we will do CL since it is just the two of us. So you think for even just 2 people it is worth it? The walk from the lounge to lobby is less than 5 minutes, elevators were very quick.
Great to know!!!

Thanks for such a detailed inventory!! What did they have for night desserts?

They do not have water to take with you, they put out big bottles of Evian for you to pour into glasses.

The breakfast was the same both days. Oatmeal with dried cranberries, almonds, brownsugar and walnuts. To die for Croissants, looked like they could have been packaged but tasted like they were freshly baked. Cinn. Rolls, Three kinds of fruit (not to ripe though) cereal and milk, yogurt, choc chip muffins. They had OJ, Choc milk and V8 to drink in the mornings. I would say the pastries came from the bakery on the Boardwalk, they were all good.

We would pay for CL with just the two of us because we would already be saving tons of money by not taking the kids!! It really is nice to have a few beers, glasses of wine, and cordials and not have to pay Disney prices for them. We also like not having to bring a ton of drinks and snacks for our room. We also really enjoy world showcase at epcot so it was nice to be able to walk back to the lounge and have something to eat instead of spending time and money in restaurant. Of course it is a better bargain by having the kids be able to enjoy it also for the same price, but for us to have time alone and have that level of service will be priceless.

Dessert on night one was cannoli, some sort of choc mousse, cookies and choc covered strawberries. Night two had a raspberry mousse, cheesecake with a choc bottom, and cookies. Could have been more on night two but we had walked the world showcase twice that day and sampled many different countries beers. The desserts are small portions so it is easy to try a few of them. Cordials were Courvoisier, Grand Marnier, an african cream liquour, and something else that I could not imagine drinking strait. Classy me drank Courvoisier on the rocks, my husband proclaimmed that it tasted like gas!

Can you pour the water into water bottles to take with you to the park and room or do we need to have water shipped to the hotel?

Ever since Disney CL changed to the large bottles, we've just requested one or two to take to our room. We keep it in the refrigerator to enjoy in the room (we aren't big soda drinkers). From there we can fill up our water bottles when we leave for the parks.

The only problem is DH is a water snob and hates Evian! :rotfl:

I believe I read MOST of this thread and it is great. I know yogurt is available in the lounge in the AM - but is there vanilla yogurt available? Its silly and it certainly won't make or break the trip, just curious!

We'll be at the BC CL in 61 days! :cool1:

TY! Lisa

Hi LisaCM614! :wave2:

You can email IPO and request vanilla yogurt and any other thing you need!
I usually request vanilla yogurt and Coke zero. :cloud9:

It's not silly! It's club level service! :thumbsup2
Now, some concierges may now come up to par on this, I'm waiting to see if WL CL will (they have in the past).....I'll let you all know soon. :rolleyes1

HI!

A few questions here. Have read a ton of this thread and some people seem to love BWCL and others think it is too removed.

We are going to WDW in October and are wondering if anyone has been to BWCL in the past few months and may be able to help us know what are the nighttime offerings?

Second, I am wondering when it is only 2 of us vs a family is it worth staying CL when you pay the same amount regardless of how many people are in the room.

Last question is, about how long of a walk is it from the lobby to the CL? Wondering if I should count on it being easy to get from pool to lounge for drinks, snacks etc or is it such a long jaunt people decide not to take advantage of the offerings?

Booking today and torn between BWV reg room or CL.:worship:

Dizneydawn
-Hello! I hope you decided today to book BWI CL! cindycastle30 did a such fabulous job of posting the offerings and her insight on the BW CL. ::yes::
As for the distance of the lounge or your room to the pool, hmmmmm, with the exception of the Poly's and the GF's SL concierges, most of the lounges are centered in the resorts. So, there will be some traveling to the pool to/from all the other concierge lounges. But, CLs are about the experience, the services, the conveniences, not just about the food (the offerings.)

Usually, the CMs will give you canned sodas and other beverages to place in your fridges and/or take with you to the pools/parks. (as long as they are not glass which included the huge glass water bottles)
There was alot of bottled water abuse in the past, hence, the end of individual bottles. But the larger ones are wonderful when you return from a spa treatment, a day at the parks, etc. :cloud9:

If you are at the quiet pool, there is a private stairway by the lounge that you will be shown. Makes it a little quicker to get to the lounge.

Also, the lounge is on the 4th floor, and you do pass alot of non-CL rooms to get to the CL area. Would really be a downer to get a non-CL room right next to the CL area, wouldn't it? 6 in one, half dozen in the other. All those rooms require some walking at the inn. Thats the charm of staying there. JMHO.

Out of all the CLs on Disney property the BWI never disappoints. They are always consistent in hospitality, outstanding CM service, excellent food offerings, and top accommodations.
The BWI CL is the only CL that rivals the GF's RPC. :cloud9: :goodvibes

HTH you and have a wonderful vacation! :thumbsup2

Anybody out there who has been able to book a BWI CL with guaranteed king?

Also, any thoughts on a room location request? I understand there aren't many Crescent Lake view rooms. Is it worth requesting? I just want something pretty to look at, i.e., not the parking lot or the pool. Any other location tips? Request top floor for proximity to lounge?

Thanks.

I only requested King bed and Boardwalk view when I booked, and my requests were met. We had a lovely room with a killer Boardwalk view. :goodvibes I emailed IPO with the requests 3 days before we arrived. :)

As for tips, we tipped Bell Services, Housekeeping, and the gal that did the turndown service. [/QUOTE]

cindycastle30

Thanks for your CL review! We loved the snacks and desserts, and had a blast with the staff. The rest of the folks in the lounge were a subdued bunch though, now that you mention it, but we had no trouble chatting with the staff. :upsidedow Glad you had a good time! :goodvibes

Cindycastle-thanks for your great review!!!

:cool1:Good to hear!!! I'll be there for the first time on 5/5.

I finally called today to cancel some ADR's I had made for myself when I first booked DxDDP. Then I switched to no DDP and CL. I have TiW so I think that will work out better for us. Just myself and 9yo DS.

Then I made a few ADR's for a family trip to BWI CL in July. We'll be there for DH's birthday. I tried to book a fishing trip that day but could only get 10am and I would rather go at 7am in July. I booked a 7am for the next day which is a Saturday and I figure a better day to stay out of the parks too. I also booked a late breakfast for that day at Cape May and dinner at Flying Fish for my DH's actual bday. I was also able to book a Fantasmic! lunch package at Mama Melrose for 1:30pm. I think this will work out really well for us. We can go swimming after lunch and then go back for Fantasmic!

I spoke to Calvin-he said he was actually with GF IPO that BWI IPO must have been busy. Was super helpful and patient. Now that I have all the May dining straightened out I'm getting pretty excited.

kaffinito-I can see you at the BWI CL, having a great time with the staff! :thumbsup2
Some people are just the subdued type. ;)

Now, I could also see you with me at the Cinco de Mayo meet ! GOOD TIMES to be had! :dance3: AAAAAArrrrrreba!!!!

Now that would be fun! :goodvibes Wish I could get away - maybe I could run away from home.....

At least I get to pal around at BWI CL again in August. :yay:

lovesdumbo-I think your plans for your DH's birthday sound great! ::yes::
Oh, I know that excitement! We're all going the same time! Are you all getting in too late for the DIS meet at Epcot?

Gotta talk DH into staying at the BWI CL the last leg of our stay! If not, I will go over and see the gang and what's going on! :thumbsup2
Maybe we'll get to meet each other finally!
Was hoping to meet KerryCM, but she's going to be there next month!

Have a wonderful vacation!!!!! :cloud9:

DH doesn't love Disney.:confused3 Last year we were supposed to take a family trip someplace other than Disney. I told him to plan it. We ended up at Disney. I promised a low key trip with lots of resort time. We tried fishing for the first time last year and he loved it. I wasn't thinking we would not go this summer but my 2 girls and I have APs that expire 7/29-seems like we sort of have to go.:rolleyes1 Can you believe DH has been to Disney 8 times and has never been to Fantasmic!?

I think I will arrive too late for Cinco de Mayo meet. You guys might still be there but I doubt you'd remember meeting me if you were still there.:lmao: Our flight lands at 12:20. We are taking a town car and will make a stop at a grocery store because I find it easier to have bottled water. We are heading right to Epcot-we really hope to ride Soarin-it is its 5th birthday-it opened 5/5/5. Then we will be hitting AK for a few rides on Everest in the dark.

I was hoping KerryCM might be there too. I did have the opportunity to meet her here in MA a few years ago. She's so sweet!!!! I can not wait to stay at her favorite place!

I have a very difficult winter. I went to Disney in December with my oldest. The day before I went I was in the ER with my youngest-she had pneumonia. Then my DS was diagnosed with pneumonia when I was gone. DH is a stay at home Dad. I can't complain too much about him non loving Disney when he encourages me to go without him and takes such good care of those I leave behind. Then I got sick at Disney. I should have gone to the doctor when I got home but my brother was hit by a car and killed on Dec 11th so I had other things on my mind rather than taking care of myself. My Dad died when I was 6 on Dec 12th so my brother was like a father to me-gave me away at my wedding, was the Godfather to my 3 children, I named my son after him....I still can not believe it is real.:sad1:

I had a trip planned to Disney with just my youngest for her 7th birthday in January. I really had to take her as I had taken her older brother & sister for their 7th birthdays. I finally went to the doctor 2 weeks before that trip. He diagnosed me with bronchitis and gave me an antibiotic and strong cough medicine. I felt better but not 100% for the trip. Turns out I really had whooping cough. My DD & I had a VERY magical trip for her birthday!!! It was exactly what I needed!!! I felt a lot better in FL than I did in MA. I really LOVED AKL CL. Even though I had stayed CL 6 previous times this time it was just absolutely perfect. When I got home I decided I just had to stay CL for my birthday trip.

I am lucky to work for a great company but I feel like I am just now almost getting caught up from being out so much this winter and being so sick.

I am SOOOOOOO looking forward to this trip!!!!

lovesdumbo - I've just been reading your post, I hope you have a magical stay at the BWI CL :goodvibes

There's a few of us there at the same time, looks like the Dis is taking over lol

lovesdumbo- God Bless you!
Thank you!

Hope Joe & I get to meet you! It feels great to be excited to go rather than the stress I was feeling in January. I know Joe & I will have a great trip. My girls love Disney but Joe is my true Disney fanatic. He loves rides like Everest & Space Mountain but his favorites are Carousel of Progress and One Man's Dream. He had to pick a famous person to do a poster on and then dress up like them for a "wax museum" at school. He chose Walt Disney of course. Then we'll get to share it all in July with the rest of the family.:cool1:

I found a 30% code for LaNouba on TravelZoo good on weekdays through 7/2. I'm not sure if i should book it for my birthday trip or if I should wait and hope for a code for later July so we can all go together. None of us has ever been.

Hey lovesdumbo, how are you? I am sure you will have a magical trip. I am looking forward to going in June. I usually do my girls trip in May, but we changed it to October this year.

My oldest grandson is going to be 9 on June 11th and all he wanted was a family trip, so what better place to go!! My son-in-law is in the military and will be home the end of the month so it will be a double celebration trip. My son, his wife and 2 daughters will be coming along with my daughter, her husband and 2 sons. Jim and I decided we should make this trip special, so paid for everyone to experience the Innkeeper's Club. Amy, my daughter, is amazed with IPO.

Please say hi to everyone there for me. Janice used to work with me at the store and was part of our girls traveling group. Now she is working at our favorite place. You are going to love all the cast there.

Oh, today is the final day for our store. We will close the doors by noon today. I have been there just shy of 17 years. I remember meeting you there one day.

We would pay for CL with just the two of us because we would already be saving tons of money by not taking the kids!! See - I am so used to thinking in the scrimp and save mode that the thought of indulging a little for us and it won't be worse because we have less people to pay for - would not be the way I think! You just totally changed my mind about that!!!
Classy me drank Courvoisier on the rocks, my husband proclaimmed that it tasted like gas!
You crack me up!!!

Dizneydawn
-Hello! I hope you decided today to book BWI CL! cindycastle30 did a such fabulous job of posting the offerings and her insight on the BW CL. ::yes:: Totally did - have been tossing this around for a month now and in that time my Dad had his leg amputated, my son who plays college soccer was in NCAA disarray for eligibility etc... and I have not had any time to think much about it. She was a perfect sales agent for BWICL! They should pay her commission!!!
But, CLs are about the experience, the services, the conveniences, not just about the food (the offerings.)
My fiance has food allergies to beef, rice and a few other things so we try to avoid food centered around that.

Since you have traveled CL - what are some of your favorite experiences we should know to enjoy!!??

There was alot of bottled water abuse in the past, hence, the end of individual bottles.
Typical, well intentioned folks are ruined by those who take and do not give...
If you are at the quiet pool, there is a private stairway by the lounge that you will be shown. Makes it a little quicker to get to the lounge.
Know the area well - we are actually DVC members and have stayed BW a ton - just not ever CL.
Would really be a downer to get a non-CL room right next to the CL area, wouldn't it? Totally!

Out of all the CLs on Disney property the BWI never disappoints. They are always consistent in hospitality, outstanding CM service, excellent food offerings, and top accommodations.

So sorry about your store closing.

I can't wait to try BWI CL. One of my coworker's DD's works at WDW and her fiance is at BWI CL.

Thank you!

Everest/Space Mountain :scared1: It's a small world is my limit! lol

Tough call re. La Nouba, a 30% code is a great score but if none of you have been before maybe you might want to wait? I'm really no help there I'm afraid.

Hope to see you too - not long now! :dance3:
