Does anyone have photos of the AKL Cl lounge?
this is our first stay there, first at club level....
I was thinking ablut adding the dining plan, will this make the package change reservation numbers?
thanks, any other info is appreciated!

I have seen pictures from the AKL CL lounge both on this thread and on the photo thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1944096

I booked CL at Sugar Loaf the other day and have read through this entire thread. I will email IPO today, but have a couple of questions.

1. Does anyone know if you can see the monorial from the marina side?
2. I have read some others refer to the number of tower/dormer rooms. Does anyone know of where I can see a "map" of the rooms?
3. I have already done my ADRs. If I want things waiting in my room, do they charge for only the items or is there a "service fee" attached?

Thanks and BTW--this will be surprise for my family!

We asked BC IPO to do a little "shopping" for some items for ds's birthday last year. We were only charged the amount of the items.

Just wanted to let you guys know that we were originally going to do the standard room with deluxe dining this year instead of CL. When I got the 40% code we switched back to the Deluxe CL room at BC and we're skipping the dining plan and paying oop. I think it will all even out because my girls, 11 and 12, hardly ever order adult meals. They are still the chicken nuggets and burger types.

Anyway I just wanted to say that BC IPO got in touch with me immediately and even though I had already done my ADRs they were able to schedule our GF Spa treatments and some "kids club" reservations. I think the BC CMs are always super nice and helpful.

I'm sure this question has been asked, but what is the difference between Royal Palm CL and Sugar Loaf CL? There's a big price difference. We are thinking about booking GF CL for our 2011 trip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RPC is on the 3-4-5 th floors of the main building. The lounge is overlooking the beautiful GF lobby. The lounge is large and spread out, and you can hear the piano player and the band in the evenings.

SL is in the Sugar Loaf building, an outer building that is right next to the main building. The lounge is in the lobby of that building and is very nice, but not as large and grand as the RPC one. On the plus side, you're right next to the courtyard pool and it's easy to go in and grab a drink if you're thirsty (not at all easy if you're in RPC).

The food and drink (and IPO office) are the same. The standard rooms are identical on the inside, too.

Hello everyone. I just booked a week at Wilderness Lodge CL (I guess I better change my siggy:goodvibes). I have never stayed CL at WDW before so I am so excited to see what awaits us. So far everything looks great. We are a family of 5 (3 kids DD13, DD10 & DS7). We are headed to WDW the first week of Dec. We have visited WL suring the holidays and we knew that we would have to stay there. I can't wait

Thanks mmmears for the info! I'm assuming the food is the same in RP CL and SL CL?? And you are right....having SL right there by the pool would be very convenient especially with 3 kids!

True for SL, but the RPC guests can use the SL also which is a wonderful perk of being on the the RPC level. The best of both worlds !:thumbsup2

Guys I have a question or two. We are staying Club Level at the Beach Club, my parents who are elderly live in Florida and will be visiting us from their house a couple times during our vacation. Is it frowned upon to ask the concierge staff if they can come up with us and sit with us up in the lounge and have maybe a cup of coffee.
Do you know if we are allowed to bring a guest or two in meaning my parents? I would pay for them to come in but they aren't staying at the hotel only visiting us for the day.
And Also we are staying standard concierge and are wondering are the rooms any different than a regular standard room. Are they bigger? Or the same square footage?

Thanks for your help and advice. Donna

That would be nice. When we were up in RPC in August that's not what the CM told us, though. Would have been so much more convenient....

If the Cast Members don't expect the lounge to be busy then there shouldn't be any problems taking them up there, so just ask them and see what they say.

What exactly IS "IPO"??? What do they do? What can they help me with?

I'm not used to club level. We were so pleasantly surprised 2 years ago to get a complimentary upgrade to GF Sugarloaf and it was lovely. I was less than impressed with the personality of the CM's at the concierge desk, but our stay was great.

Now I am paying for it at Beach Club and look at it differently! LOL I'm hoping for a wonderful, magical trip for my little 6 year old.

I put in a request on my ressie for a microwave as I need to have an oatmeal thing that I bring from home, and dd loves instant oatmeal.

I am married with 3 kids. I am taking this 9 night vacation with just my dd. This time away together is NOT just about a luxury vacation...it is seriously needed 1:1 mommy/daughter time as I have been extremely focused on ds who is having a lot of medical and emotional issues. Dh is taking the time off to spend 1:1 with him.

I am hoping and praying that mousekeeping will do fun towel animals every day. Is it rude or obnoxious for me to talk to IPO ahead and ask them if they can help us with something like this? Another lady in the thread mentioned asking them to do some shopping. Is this common? If I asked them to maybe have some cute stuff laying around the room to surprise her , that I was going to buy her anyway?

Also, we are staying our first night in a standard view room and then switching our next night to club level for the last 8 nights. Can IPO help me with arrangments for switching rooms??

I haven't received a call from them...am I supposed to? I made the ressie over the phone..but I did just book it yesterday and I know today is Presidents day.

I had no idea there even was such an office! CM didn't mention it on the phone..just read it here. Thanks so much!!

The IPO means Itinerary Planning Office and they plan all your ADR's, purchase tickets and handle any requests you have before you arrive. So basically you don't need to do any of that yourself, however you are not required to have them do that for you if you don't want them to. They are also not the same Cast Members who you see working in the Club Level lounges, because they have nothing to do with each other. So if you haven't got a welcome e-mail from them with a planning sheet, just call them or e-mail them yourself so they can start helping you.

Make sure you tell the staff about your request for the microwave. They should be able to help you with that. You can ask the IPO office to do some shopping for "surprises" but I think you'll need a little bit of an idea of what you're looking for and the price range.

HTH!

Check the very beginning of this thread.....great info...it really helped me with all my questions. It gave me the IPO number to call, which I have done several times. They have been more than helpful!!!

Lucky you!!!
We stayed at WLV on rented points the first year we went to WDW & fell in love with the place!
I can't imagine anyplace better at Christmas.
Have a wonderful time!

Which CL still have donuts for breakfast?:confused3 We are planning a stay and DD is really into donuts and saw some pictures of donuts at the CR CL. She wants to stay there, and I want to make sure there are still donuts. I know on past trips to BWI and YC the donuts have been missing.:sad1:

Is it possible to get an AKL villa room and also do club level?

There are a few (very few) AKV CL rooms located on the 6th floor of the Jambo building, right down the hall from the club level lounge. I don't know the exact number, but I know there aren't many and it's hard to book it, but the rooms do exist.:goodvibes
