Any recent experiences at YC? We are staying in a LV CL room 10/24-10/30 and are so excited!

Thanks!

I just wanted to say it's great to see another great Boardwalk Club Level review since my family and I will be staying there next month for the 1st time.

just upgraded to BC CL for our Sept trip. :cool1::cool1: Gave up the waterview to get CL but I think it will be so worth it so see the look on DH and kids faces since I am keeping it a secret.

not necessarily a CL ?, but does BWI have movies on the beach or is the YC/BC the only resorts in that area that do?

TIA!

I second the request for more details! Don't go until November, and am missing the place!

How busy was the Boardwalk? Were you on 3rd or 4th floor? What was your view?

I posted a question about on line check in the other day...just wanted to take a second to thank anyone who responded!!!!
Also, staying YC CL for a weekend in beginning of August...have not heard from IPO..however already have ADRs and are Fl Residents with passes.
This is a resort, lay back and watch the World go by weekend :beach:
....is there any reason for me to contact them?
Thanks again
Robin

Yep 2 bathrobes in the suites. We were in room 4229- 2 nice flat screens in the room. Check in we had a bit of a snafu that was more CRO fault than boardwalk fault- management got involved and it turned into a bigger mess and then JJ came over and took over. Solved the problem and we were in.

The room was great- view very nice. We were right over the bakery- not noisy at all. The balcony was a bit dirty- buggy more than anything else. Just looked like it needed a Magic eraser.

The CM's were so very nice. JJ and Jackie really stood out this trip. They bent over backwards for us. JJ even got involved in tooth fairy duty when my son lost his first tooth. In the past it has always been Lorenzo- this trip we barely saw him- only one time in a walk by. Hope all is well with him and sad we missed his smile this time. Really you can't go wrong here (well there was one stick in the mud- curious is anyone else felt that way about one cm but he wasn't around much so no big issue)

It didn't seem crowded and only one day were there a couple other families in the lounge. We were usually alone.

The CM's make this place imho. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

java,
Do you happen to remember seeing if the lounge had any cans of Sprite Zero? If you don't remember it's not a problem and when my family and I are at the Contemporary we can have them call the Innkeepers Club and then we find out the answer.

Reading the post about the family that arrived late at AKL CL and had to check in at the front desk as the CL CMs were gone for the day has me thinking...until what time are they available? I think our flight arrives at MCO at nine pm, so we wouldn't arrive at AKL til after 10 pm....does it make sense to maybe get a standard room for the first night, and then check into CL the next morning? Can you use the lounge in the AM before you get your room?

We originally had a 1BR villa booked for Jambo on 12/18 and 12/19, but we expecting to get there late on the night of the 17th (8-9pm). We booked a value studio for the 17th and asked about check-in/etc for the transition.

Yes, Club Level closes at 10pm, so you'd need to check-in at the front desk after that time. If you do a non-club level room, the next morning you would have to go down to the Club Level check-in/greeting area and they will escort you up to the 6th floor so that you can check-into your room for the remainder of your stay. You cannot just go up there though without an escort. You can't get the breakfast until or during check-in of your next room from what I understand.

(since then, we've decided to move up our travel date by 1/2 day and arrive mid-day on the 17th - luckily we were able to get the 1BR CL for that night, so now we don't have to move/etc)

But, I think you'll be able to get breakfast first thing in the morning when they open for check-in at club level. I think breakfast starts at 6:30 coffee, and 7:00am for the food/juices, etc.

Oh - here is part of the IPO email that I got last month regarding check-in - hope it helps!!!

"Let me just take a moment to touch base with you about our check in
procedure. If you arrive before 5 p.m look for the cast member at the
Kilimanjaro Club check in podium just to the left of the front entrance.
If you arrive after 5 p.m but before 10 p.m. you will need to enter the
lobby and turn left to the Bell Services desk and they will assist you.
Either way, there will be no need for you to wait in line at the Front
Desk. If you are arriving after 10:00 p.m.you will have to check in
briefly with the Front Desk. Please be sure to stop by the Kilimanjaro
Club desk in the morning before you head out so we can make sure we have
your reservation in order regarding charging privileges and tickets."

We booked BC CL on Saturday and yesterday I received an email from the IPO to contact them about our schedule.

second quessing how I will do in a room with my 14 yr old son and his friend. Are there many connecting rooms at YC CL? do they have 1 bedroom suites like at AKL where there is 1 bedroom, a full and half bath and a living room-dining room area?
It's only 4 nights, but I am really wondering if it was a good choice-although not sure there would be a second room open. with them being teens I would HAVE to connect to them.

I had tried to get a DVC villa when we booked but the only thing open was SSR and we do not like it there.

They had Sprite out but not Sprite Zero- call ahead and tell them that's your drink of choice and I bet they'll have some for you! Good luck and have a great time. I would love to try the contemporary sometime.
