We are back from our CL stay at WL! Got home late last night...
We were there 7/4 - 7/10 in Room #7111!
Our stay was fantastic. This was our second time at WL but our first CL. Everything was awesome...
Any questions, ask away...
I am uploading pics today and will post some when I get a chance!
Debbie

Our 7 year old DD with autism will only drink two things; water and her first choice which is milk. Do they have milk available in the lounge during the day and not just at breakfast? We have only stayed at CL once and it was a complimentary upgrade at the Poly. They had milk available all day but you had to ask for and it was kept behind the counter. I was just wondering about WL as we are considering CL for our next trip. CL just worked out so well for us and our DD. It was a nice quiet place to take her for a snack when she became overstimulated in the crowded parks.

Thank you for your response, RachelTori. Would you recommend contacting the IPO ahead of our arrival or would asking them upon arrival be appropriate?

This is such a small matter that I don't want to make a big deal out of it, but I'm not sure if they would prefer advance notice or if it's easier for them to just hand me some OJ bottles when I check-in since it'll be during breakfast-time.

If you have a need to contact the IPO for another reason, then I would certainly add the request at that time. Those types of requests sometimes get overlooked (which is why I wouldn't make a special effort to contact them just for that ;)), but you can definitely inform the Lounge CMs at check-in and I'm confident they'll take care of your wishes! :thumbsup2

They have water and milk available all day. My husband loved the chocolate milk that was out all day. One day he said to me "I would love to have chocolate milk available all day at home!" :confused3 I told him - "ok, buy it and put it in the fridge!"
Anyway... the only time it wouldn't be readily available is when they close the lounge for cleaning (after breakfast and before dinner). But you only have to ask a CM and they are more than happy to go get it for you! They were extremely helpful!

sweetpee_1993, the 6th floor DVC rooms are club level.
There are only a total of 10 rooms up there. Those are the only club level DVC rooms in the building.
The club level lodge guests are on the 4th floor, and I think that's how it was even prior to the DVC conversion. The savanna views are MUCH better from the 4th floor than they are from the 6th floor. :)

Has anyone worked with the CL IPO/CMs to buy a specialty cake?

I want to surprise DH and the kids with a nice anniversary cake for all of us to share in the room after DH & I come back from dinner at the California Grill. I debated getting a cake through the CG but want the kids to be able to be included :lovestruc so I want to have it in the room after we pick them up from the Cub's Den.

Is this something I could coordinate with the WL IPO??

I worked with BC CL last year to have private dining make a special birthday cake. It was ds's birthday and friends of ours were staying at YC, and were celebrating their son's birthday too. We had planned to have it at our Illuminations cruise but it was too muggy so they ended up setting it up in our room.

BC IPO was wonderful - I told them what kind of cake I wanted and they worked with private dining to make it happen.

Thanks so much for your reply! :goodvibes It's nice to know I could have some help in getting everything taken care of.

Reading the post about the family that arrived late at AKL CL and had to check in at the front desk as the CL CMs were gone for the day has me thinking...until what time are they available? I think our flight arrives at MCO at nine pm, so we wouldn't arrive at AKL til after 10 pm....does it make sense to maybe get a standard room for the first night, and then check into CL the next morning? Can you use the lounge in the AM before you get your room?

Makes perfect sense! That's what we have done and yes, your CL privileges start as soon as you get upstairs and check-in. :goodvibes
(remember, you must check-out of your old room first!) ;)

Thanks! I'm glad I found this info out now! (and maybe I can save a few bucks while I'm at it and save the $$ for dinner at Jiko and Boma instead!):thumbsup2

Now, you NEVER know, but the pixie dust fairy might be looking over you! Sometimes we were sprinkled with it and got to go right to our CL room late at night!
We never expected it! That's the thing! No expectations, no disappointments!

Sometimes, it happens, though. ;)

Good luck and have a wonderful trip!:cloud9:

Thanks so much! That would be a nice surprise, but I like this idea no matter what :) :woohoo:

and I just noticed you leave in four days...lucky! Enjoy the GF...it is so beautiful!

Yes and no. :)
Yes, the 6th floor rooms were for concierge guests (and we often stayed in them, loved the red river wart hogs)!

And no, it was the deluxe FIFTH floor rooms that the concierge rooms and special suites used to be on.

But, vicki and robinb explained to me why they did what they did, so there it is. :cutie:

I do remember the deluxe rooms on the 5th floor. I guess our first CL stay at the lodge was after the DVC conversion, so CL rooms were on the 4th floor. But I am guessing that even prior to the DVC conversion there were maybe 15 rooms total on the 6th floor, so there would have always been additional concierge rooms on another floor.

Having them on the 5th floor would explain why they have the key card access stairs from the 5th floor up to the lounge. ::yes::

That is exactly the information I was hoping for. Thanks!

Just back from another great bwcl vacation (JJ and jackie were fantastic- didn't see lorenzo this time we missed all the evening stuff as we were out)
Any ?s we would go back to that cl level in a heartbeat

I've read there is a different color Key to the World for CL guests. Is that correct? Does anyone have a photo of what it looks like?

The card is yellow instead of blue. Most of the CMs in the shops at the parks didn't know it was for CL. A lot of them remarked how they liked it better than the regular ones.
