I have stayed concierge at AKL and I have stayed DVC at AKL but not AKV Concierge. Can someone tell me if I will have turndown and/or daily mousekeeping as is standard with concierge or will it not happen as is standard with DVC? Thanks in advance. :thumbsup2

No problem! You will get daily housekeeping and daily turndown service with AKV concierge. It's one of the concierge perks that replaces the DVC standard way of doing things. Have a great time!

Thank you very much. I will now have my little tip envelopes ready and not come back to a room taken care of without having left a tip. How exciting!

I have to say that the whole debate about using the CL food as a meal replacement frustrates me for 2 reasons:

1) I paid a large price to stay club level and if I want to eat then I am going to and I shouldn't feel as though I am being watched by others.

What you paid for does not include a MEAL, it includes snacks. You never did pay for a "meal". That wasn't included in your big ticket. If it included a meal, they would say so and stock it as such. I paid also for the treats and I'm not getting any. How is THAT right?

2) I am on vacation and can find other things to do then sit and see who might be taking more food then myself, remember it is supposed to be the Happiest place on Earth :-).

That doesn't mean people are, but when you are waiting in line to get something and the people in front of you emptied everything off, OR you are waiting for it to be restocked, it is, and then it's gone before you can even grab a plate....
So people with the entitlement agenda, eating all they want because they paid for it, are the ones that ruin it for the others.
.. :confused3

If there isn't enough food for everyone then perhaps something should be said to a Cast Member or Management so that they can ensure there is enough to go around for everyone.

As I said before, they never will stock like crazy because that is just encouraging people to 'load up". If they want meals to be included, they'll raise the rates for that and then everyone pays for the entitlement of others. Do I wish they would? Heck yeah! But they won't. It's business.

I should have complained, but I didn't. I should have, I just got frustrated and decided not to let it interfere w/ my trip at the time. As you said, it's the Happiest Place on Earth, why do I want to go complaining. Even if I had, I wasn't going to wait around for them to bring something up. Why should I? I just waited as it was and it wasn't there or was restocked and taken.

If it's truly a case of "food hoarders"...that's just unfortunate....I can imagine someone's frustration there...personally I don't care how little or how much someone takes...I'm not one to really be aware of that sort of thing

And I'm not either. I don't watch and I don't care, as long as it's not encroaching on other's "rights" as well. We didn't get any of the snacks we had paid for because others felt entitled to take everything. No one has a "right" to eat a full blown meal in a lounge. That's what restaurants are for. I just wish people cared a little more for their fellow guests than feeling entitled to more than their money's worth. I don't understand why people feel the need to debate it. :confused3 It's in black and white. Nowhere does it state "meals included". I'm not arguing anything.

But I do absolutely think that if it's just people taking a little by and by and the lounge staff is not stocking up even enough for that, then there is a serious issue that the resort should address. I honestly don't sit there and watch others. I've just been in the recieving (or not  ) end of having it all taken by a few people right before my eyes as I waited my turn. I'm certain that it's probably a little of both. Food hoarders and not stocking fast enough.

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry...that's just so inconsiderate...how can someone be so unaware of their actions and how it directly effects everyone around them???

I mean I understand that there's always going to be someone to take the last little bit or piece...but if you're loading up and taking it all not leaving any for those standing next to you....wow...that's just plain inconsiderate.

I would be a little put off too!

Yeah totally! That's the whole deal. It's not just happening to be the person taking the last few cheese puffs or whatever. LOL We've all been "that" person in a buffet line when that's all that was left. That's perfectly fine. Well, not for me but I don't blame that person in the least. It is what it is. Oh vell. Could just be my bad luck. I've got a lot of that. ;)

Maybe I'm just so sickeningly Minnesota Nice, I can't stand putting anyone else out. That said, while everyone else is sitting at a 4-way stop on the roads, I'll go while the rest of them debate who was really next in line. :rotfl:

Well I can't speak for the Yacht Club, but at the Contemporary there is a table set up with a black try and a table cloth for guests to put their dirty dishes on there. Now other guests were also putting their plates on there so not everyone in the lounge left food on the tables, however there was still a good amount of people who left their plates on the tables and couldn't walk a few feet to their and to the garbage can.

Yes, this is what we had seen on previous trips to the Yacht club. We hadn't been there in 2 years & were surprized to find that table gone & a large potted plant in its place. I wonder if anyone can comment on the other concierge lounges & if this is a pretty new thing. Going back in December, wonder if it will still be this way then.

Well if you want to look at it from a different prespective the nights my family and I choose to eat the food offerings in the lounge means we don't need to spend money at restaurants, so we save money by doing that. So in our opinion the food should be included as part of staying Club Level, because it's also part of the reason those rooms cost more per night. Also if the food in the lounges is not to be included then why do they is it even offered?

It has nothing to do with perspective or opinions. It's what is written into what is included in your room, and m-e-a-l-s are not. Black and white. Others are choosing to rewrite that Dinsey written info, not me. Don't argue w/ me, I didn't write it but I have every "right" in getting the few things I did pay for despite other's desire to feel entitled to save money by putting out others. If Disney cared that you save money, they'd make the offering much larger and the lounge not a lounge space anymore and a dining area.

Well here is part of what's said in the welcome letter from the Atrium Club we get after we check-in.

"We invite you to sample out food and beverage offerings"

So if it's true that the food is not included why would they add that in the welcome letter? Also at the bottom is a list of the times when each of the food offerings take place, so once again if the food is not included why do they keep trying to push it?

Now I am just posting what we got from the Contemporary when we check-in and I am not trying to make up any of this.

Oh for God's sake. Are you reading what you want to read or what? I think some people just like to get ideas in their heads even thougth they weren't written. I never said food wasn't included. Go back and read my posts. Only a few pages ago. I quoted from the Disney site. And even your own quote it says "sample" it doesn't say "dine". For crying out loud, no they don't put food out for you to just look at an not eat.
I don't know why you are arguing unless it's just because you like to. :confused3

Actually you did say the food wasn't included.

Anyway as for them saying the word sample my guess is they used it because it's sounds like a fancy word. Also like I said on the previous page there are no rules posted in the lounge on how much someone is allowed to eat and the Cast Members never bother anyone at how much food they take.

Its all word play. I have stayed at WDW concierge many times and it is a MEAL at breakfast. In fact, the term they use is continental breakfast. And quite honestly, we usually eat a large meal in the parks at lunch and are quite happy "sampling" the appetizers in the lounge each evening. We don't overeat or hoard and a few samples later and we are satisfied. We often choose not to eat a formal sit down dinner.

The food is there for the guests and I have rarely seen anyone take advantage. Its all good!:goodvibes:thumbsup2

ppony, with all due respect, you are doing a fair amount of arguing yourself. I think it is time to agree to disagree. One individuals "sampling" may be plenty for me or an appetizer to someone else.

If you have an an issue with what you deem problematic behavior, then you should take it up with the resort but to continue to argue your interpretation is getting nowhere.

Where? Where did I say it was NOT included? Never did. I have stayed at CL many times and have occasionally partaken.

Take it up w/ the Disney Co. if you think meals should be included. Until then you can keep telling yourself whatever you want if it is you "opinion" full meals should be included and that will justify leaving nothing for anyone else after it was freshly stocked. It's called courtesy. And I guess until they post rules about every courtesy that should be obvious, then I guess some will always be there to exploit everything.

Not really. It appears to me that people are trying to argue w/ me for what Disney has set forth. It seems that people want to write their own terms. I just happened to be sitting next to my laptop today as I'm painting and was hoping I could get some people to understand. That was my mistake I guess. :confused3 :headache:

With the exception of "continental breakfast" which can be and is a meal to many including us. Many people eat light in the morning, then nowhere in the verbiage set for by Disney preper soes it say you can use the lounge food as a substitue for a full meal.

You (general you) can argue, I'm not. I just am perplexed at how hard it is for people to read and understand. :confused3

Next time we stay that level, I'll be sure then to say something to CMs if they aren't stocking fast enough. Then I'll be the one they think is trying to get more than they intend.
